On the second day of the schedule (first night was washed up) Stephan Nasse won the 25 lap race.  Sean Bass finished second, Brandon Watson was third, Patrick Laperle fourth and Brandon Johnson fifth.

Post race inspection found Watson to have used illegal gaz (track gaz is mandatory), was DSQ and relegated to 27th position.

For more info and videos of a very very very exciting 25 lap go to  http://oval-racing.blogspot.com

It was reported that it was the additive to the gas that was the reason for the DQ.

Your talking about why Brandon was dq'd, I'm talking about the super late race.
Brandon was dq'd from the crate late model race after finishing third on saturday night. On Sunday afternoon, the top 5 in the super race were dq'd for doping tires. Tongue

Apparently NSS has a durometer rule, and the top 5 guys all read too soft. They checked the tires of 6th 7th and 8th and they were all fine.

Yeah...but odds are they didn't check that far back in the pack until awhile after the race ended...wouldn't the tires harden as they cooled down?

Watson wrecked last night, unsure how bad, and by the looks on speed51's website, a black car that has SPIRA on the quarter panel( i assume McWhirter) alsso wrecked.

As mentioned above, NSS does have a durometer rule, But they also allow soaking of the tires as the tires they are using, are pretty hard. So it sounds like they made them a little to soft.

Last night was pretty bad for all canadians.  You can get multiple updates I did on twitter at: http://www.twitter.com/ovalracing  or on my blog http://oval-racing.blogspot.com including a video of the race.

Concerning the Super Late: the rules allow for soaking... but the minimum softness is 40.  The top five blew that.

Concerning Watson: he used racing gaz which was purchased here at a dirt track.  But the rules require using pump gaz purchased at the track.  They tested it and it failed.  The team did not argue and took the rulling.

And one of the SK mod drivers and crew members are going to spend the night flushing the mace out of their eyes, after a little disagreement in victory lane.
