I don't think they had the roof flaps in 87 did they? That probably would have taken care of it then. Carl's mistake was in the interview. He should have said he never meant to wreck him, just rattle his cage. That worked for the 3.

Lots of people talking about it, guess what made the highlight reels. Big wrecks never hurt the TV ratings. Bring on the next round!

No roof flaps in 87, they would bang the spoiler down, no front vailence and I think they were working with the 5 and 5 rule also so lots of ground clearence.

3 Race Probation? NASCAR what is this like 3 weeks. He should be parked for a least one more races if not more. Nascar = Politics and can't rock the boat in this economy.

If this would have been a another team that isn't a big name team or sponsor it would have been for sure a longer Probation and for sure a race parked.

I don't know but in the last couple years I have been losing interest in Nascar. I used to make sure to watch the race or record it and watch it later. Now a days just finding out the winner is all that is needed.

No surprise.

If they threw the book at Carl they'd undo all of their posturing about how they're going to "let them decide it themselves", and make the drivers afraid to go near each other, which is the opposite of what they're looking for.

Its pretty much what I expected, but I don't know if its a good thing or not. Being on probation going into Bristol is quite a hindrance, so maybe its a bigger penalty than it seems at first glance.

I'm good with the decision. I'm also still a little blown away, in a good way, that they parked Carl in the first place. They rarely, if ever, do that at the Cup level.

I hope that trickles down to the short track level eventually.

Back in the day what Edwards did wouldn't even get him parked but this is the New NASCAR not the NASCAR of the past. SO people comparing it to about 10 years ago is not the same thing.

I must be getting old,I think edwards should be parked for a race ,someone could have been killed. Going back in time when I was in a situation with kerry micks at peterbough ,He wreaked me .I was pissed came out of the pits and waited till he came around the front stretch.I took him off turn 1 ,no walls then and we just missed the tv guy in the stand filming the race.I look back and that was pretty dumb ,wreak race car ,could have killed the tv guy but ,thats what happens in the heat of the moment.Age calms ya so think about the time you will be fixxin your car all week and how you would feel if someone really got hurt.Just my thoughts ,The green turtle is retired <<<<Mike Hryniuk

Well the hell of it is, this is probably the end of the "rivalry". I think Carl made his point, judging by the little cartoon tweety birds circling Kes's head as he climbed out of the car on Sunday.

And you can bet that if Keslowski even thinks about touching Edwards than you'll see NASCAR rake him over the coals. I think its the last we've heard of it from those 2. The nature of racing now doesn't really encourage long time rivalries anyway...not so far as what the fans can see anyway. Which is fine with me. IMO, real rivalries don't involve guys wrecking each other every week- its all about guys who are good and both shooting at the same prize for years, and ending with a real sense of respect and admiration for the other guy. Pearson/Petty comes to mind, as does Gordon and Big E, or even Elliott and Big E.

Edwards vs Keslowski isn't what I think of as a rivalry, its just thuggery. It looked for a while like Johnson might have a rival in Harvick...they seemed to be racing for the same spot a number of times this year so far.

As always, we'll see how it plays out.
