I heard today that Cayuga is going to hold 4 races this year. The Speedway has a very hard time getting races cleared by the towns people. No doubt there will have to be music playing again.

it was said this was going to happen at the osscar drivers meeting on jan 7 maybe the date is wrong ,osscar doing ther don biederman memorial race there, yes halimand county has problems and it dont help that marie trainer the mayor of haldimand county lives next to the track maybe if racers and fans would let the township know how much they would and could support the race track and maybe even the local business,s she might have achange of heart and not be so uptight about so called racer type people who she thinks are bad people

I found Marie Trainer to always back us when racing. She knows that I am involved and she has always wished me good luck and actually has come out to watch.

The Cayuga Chamber of Commerce wants to aide tourism and help promote the local race tracks. It's on their 2007 agenda to try and make this a race town again. Even if it's something as simple as hanging banners or flags to dress up for race weekends. The local business community is supportive of the tracks (Cayuga Speedway as well as Toronto Motorsports Park). The Chamber is planning on asking how they can help promote the tracks and their events. There have been articles in the local papers broaching this subject. There's been talk about this in the last year or so, but I think this year we'll make something happen.

iam not blaming the mayor but she is uptight about the type of people who go to races,as she had some drunken fans having intimate relations on her front yard years ago and ha sbeen leary ever since, the chamber of comerce works for the local business,s not hte town so the decisions on permits and such are up to town councila nd the mayor ,my friend works with a local alderman and see,s the nonsense the town go s to to approve permits for cayuga, dragway park and the autodrome ,it is like pulling teeth to get approvals ,why the track did not start to expand as planned because the town wants to do some studies on any impacts on the surrounding area ,noise, envirnmental, traffic, etc;if racers and fans keep telling them we would support the track and local business the town might speed things along, just my thoughts, and dont forget marie trainer is a politician ,she will tell you what you want to hear not what you dont
