SUCCESSFUL OUTING FOR PIERRE BOURQUE RACING AT TALLADEGA

Ottawa, ON (April 18, 2011)  NASCAR driver Pierre Bourque, who normally is behind the wheel during the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, raced this past weekend in the 3 Amigos 250 ARCA Series event at Talladega Superspeedway.  Piloting the #6 Revolution Resources - Fight Network - OCR Gas Bar Toyota fielded by Eddie Sharp Racing, Bourque had a race outing that was as wild as the weather in Talladega.

During practice for the event Bourque showed great poise behind the wheel and posted the eleventh quickest time around the high banked Superspeedway.  “We picked up right where we left off during our testing session” said Bourque.  “The whole ESR team worked really hard and gave me a terrific car” he added.

Bourque would qualify the #6 Revolution Resources - Fight Network - OCR Gas Bar Toyota sixteenth but would have to wait until Saturday morning to begin the race due to extreme weather across the southern US.  “It was quite an impressive display of the power of Mother Nature” noted Pierre.

When the green flag waved on Saturday morning Bourque had the benefit of some great experience to help guide him around the race track.  “My spotter for this event was Eddie D’Hondt who’s been around NASCAR forever as a team owner and he also happens to be the spotter for Kyle Busch so I knew I’d be in good hands” said the confident driver.

Through the early part of the race Bourque proceeded methodically with #6 Revolution Resources - Fight Network - OCR Gas Bar Toyota listening to D’Hondt and maneuvering his ride.  “I learned so much during this race it was amazing” said Bourque.  “This kind of Superspeedway racing is totally unique and it was so important to have Eddie helping me out” he added.

Following an early caution Bourque would find himself running as high as third in the field of thirty nine cars.  “It was a real statement about how well this #6 Revolution Resources - Fight Network - OCR Gas Bar Toyota was running and how quickly we got up to speed” said the driver.

Though he dropped back due to other competitors having fresher tires, Bourque managed to connect and draft for much of the race with the #5 of Bobby Gerhart and the two worked very well together.  “Our two cars were very compatible” explained Bourque.  “Unfortunately on one of the last restarts we got separated, Bobby went on to finish third which is great, if only we’d been able to stay connected our #6 Revolution Resources - Fight Network - OCR Gas Bar Toyota might have finished even higher”.

Bourque would take the checkered flag and claim a fifteenth place finish.  “I can’t tell you how pleased I am to come home with this great finish in my first race at this track” said Bourque.  “It was an enormous learning experience and working with such a great group at Eddie Sharp Racing.  Our team lead by Crew Chief Dave Leiner who is a Superspeedway expert was very special” he added.

Equally important to the wonderful finishing position for Bourque and the #6 Revolution Resources - Fight Network - OCR Gas Bar Toyota was the exposure for the team to fans and partners.  “We got some tremendous coverage with our in car camera shots during the race on SPEED for all the fans in Canada and the US watching the race live and I’m so grateful for the support of all our partners, especially my fellow competitor from the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Derek White and the OCR Gaz Bar” said Bourque.
