HALL HAULS AWAY FOR DOMINANT ISLAND COASTAL SERVICES 50 WIN

(Oyster Bed Bridge, PE – August 7th, 2018) – Cory Hall of Jolicure, New Brunswick executed a flawless Island Coastal Services 50 Saturday night at Oyster Bed Speedway en route to his second Maritime League of Legends Tour win of 2018. Hall won his qualifying heat race in front of a packed crowd at the Prince Edward Island oval and easily drove to the win in the 50-lap feature.

A number of restarts kept the INEX Pro division driver on his toes. He battled early with Adam Meehan (Rawdon, NS), point leader Shelby Baker (Fall River, NS) and Cory Hall Racing teammate Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS) but would stretch the legs of his No. 08 G&S Racing Legend on the green flag runs.

“The car was really good tonight,” said Hall of his ride that took him to the checkered flag. “This is one of my favorite tracks. It’s hard, it’s line sensitive, it can be difficult to pass and takes a lot of adapting. I love coming here and happy to come home with another win.”

At the end of the race, Hall had over a four second lead on the battle for second, which saw Baker edge MacDonald for the spot. Emily Meehan (Rawdon, NS) drove from ninth in a tough field to finish fourth while Shane Lively (Middle Sackville, NS) fought mechanical problems early in the day to finish fifth.

Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS) was the top Fleet Brake Atlantic Rookie of the Race over Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB) and Nicole Richard (Belnan, NS). Rogers and his sixth place finish was one spot better than Cormier, who went into the Island Coastal Services 50 with no track time on the afternoon after the No. 68 expired a motor one lap into practice.

Hall and MacDonald won qualifying heat races on the afternoon. Sixteen cars answered the call to the green flag in the Island Coastal Services 50. Even with a bit of mist in the area around the halfway point, the drivers were able to keep heat in the track and complete the full 50-lap distance in 26 minutes.
