Ontario Legends Series Books a Grand Bend Speedway Double-Header

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

While other tours are slowly winding things down, teams with the Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series are turning-up the heat as their schedule hits an action-packed home stretch. Things get underway Saturday and Sunday, September 8th and 9th with back-to-back dates at Grand Bend Speedway. Andrew McFadden – who along with Jeff Drimmie and Kevin Foisy make-up the Ontario Legends team of officials – says everyone will be looking to solidify their point positions as they head into the 2018 season finale at Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic.

“Like everyone else, we’ve had a couple of issues with weather along the way, but for the most part its been a great season,” Andrew McFadden said. “From our first green flag of the year, through the Canadian Asphalt Legend Car Nationals and now the closing dates of the schedule. Our teams are putting a quality product on the track any time and everywhere we race.”

Across the board, the championship point’s race is pretty tight. Only about 100 markers stand between Matt Haufe and Terry McClelland, with Kevin Foisy in between. Dawson Drimmie sits 4th and the next 4 in the rundown are less than 100 points behind. With less than a handful of events remaining on the schedule, things can change in a hurry and probably will.

This weekend’s dates for the Fall Brawl Classic at Grand Bend Speedway were originally planned to include both the oval and road course layouts at the Western Ontario venue, but those thoughts were revised and now both the Saturday and Sunday shows will be contested on the oval.
