FORD VERSUS HOLDEN: END OF AN ERA AT SYDNEY TELSTRA 500
One of sport's most notorious rivalries will be settled this weekend as the final Ford versus Holden battle is set to take place at the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship finale - the Sydney Telstra 500.
The 20 year Ford and Holden domination will end next year as Nissan and AMG join the V8 Supercars grid, but teams and drivers are determined to end in style and take their place in motorsport history.
The past 20 years has seen a total of 309 Commodore and Falcon chassis manufactured and raced in both V8 Supercars and Dunlop Series and as 2012 wraps up the end of an era, V8 Supercars look back on the Ford and Holden history.

The Sydney Telstra 500 is set to be an action packed weekend both on track and off with the final Ford and Holden showdown plus Super Fan Friday, True Colour Track Walk, the Disney Pixar's CARS Truck Tour and all the activities in the Family Zone, plus live performances by Australian rock icon Jimmy Barnes and Diesel on Saturday night.
