new sunset jacket
« on: May 02, 2007, 10:39:08 PM »
On Saturday at the Barrie Speedway practice big Don who has been quite rightly complaining about not getting a Sunset Speedway jacket at there banquet in Recognition for his years of service, showed up to watch.
There must be a huge mistake or Glen had a change of heart because Don was wearing a Sunset Speedway jacket,it said across the back of the jacket on  top of the logo SUNSET SPEEDWAY and underneath the logo  it said  SUCKS,  so lets end this complaining about the jacket because Don now has one that he wears with pride.

i saw that jacket its a nice leather one.

Very nice leather with red piping ,the size of don ,they must have killed 3 cows to make it, but l will take back what l said about Glenn being a cheap liar , he aint cheap.

I have to agree with you about this thread not being funny. Based on the previous postings from Don (whoever he is), I find him to be a very immature and ungrateful person. When you work for a track as a volunteer or in a paid capacity, you do so for the self-satisfaction that you have done the best job you are capable of doing and not for the glory you may be seeking.

Don worked at Sunset for years for free and he retired, at the banquet even the kid who cleans the wash rooms aka Spencer got a jacket but poor old Don was left out in the cold,so after having to pay to get into the track every week and then working for free the management of Sunset had a change of heart and gave  him a Jacket, if Don chooses to puts SUCKS across the bottom that is  up to him ,at least he is happy now.

Spence it will be an  honor to have  you at Barrie Speedway this Weekend, l'm sure ole Don will be happy to see you, it will be just like old times. And l think you are getting pretty conceited and feeling too important, since when did  announcing require a higher skill level than cleaning washrooms.

Heh.

Dude...I have nothing to say about the whole subject of this thread. But that last statement is just plain wrong.

Good announcing is a talent that guys work for years to develop.

Not to get into the subject too much, but I know from personal experience that Don actually got paid for working at sunset.  Not much pay but the majority of workers there do get paid.  As far as I know the only ones that are volunteer are the clean up crew and the tow truck drivers and considering they don't get paid, they do a good job. They must really love racing to be doing it for free.  Just wanted to mention that I'm pretty sure he did get paid.

For years he has complained about sunset, long before Glenn owned it.  The last couple years he has quit numerous times only to have to beg Glenn for his job back.

I'm glad he finally got himself a jacket.  Its just too bad he has to show such little class by having "sucks" under Sunsets name.  Maybe now we can get back to racing now that he won't be part of sunset anymore...although something tells me that he'll still be around to cause trouble no matter what.

And Spencer...you do a great job!

What's the deal with 'you fail'? Is this funny or are you taking the rest of us to school?
