Just thought I would post that Glen has called the night due to the rain.  So see everyone out next weekend.

Sometimes these things happen for a reason , after all it will be the first time this season that the condiments table at the concession stand will have been washed off.

damn this forum is dead

These were your Your famous words about your beloved Sunset forum way back when, well with characters like you associated with Sunset no wonder, you must make your living being a proffesional pall bearer at funerals, zing you are one serious dude,"here's a wild idea  if there's so much to complain about at sunset....DONT COME BACK" Steve Slaughter said something similar one time and guess what they didn't come back,if you were on my management team you would be like a canon (fired) zing.Address the problem and fix it and then see how opinions change.
Instead of defending the place get off your buts form a work crew spend a few days, months, years and when its done  call Glen and wake him up lying on the Sofa and scratching his ++++ and tell him, "hey the weeds are gone, the rubble is gone" etc and when he yawns in your ear don't get offended  go back to your hobby counting the grains of sand in the Sunset pits, your probably very good at it.

Spence even your reply is so complex and dry l have to drink a six pack of brador before l can comprehend what you are saying, my parched throat reminds me of the time Vic Parsons went screaming through the pits during a caution he was kicking up so much dust l had to use a flash light to find my way to the concession stand.

and regarding your comparison of my offer to Steve Slaughter's similar offer.

I have been in the pits every single week, shaking hands and speaking with drivers.

we have not had ONE complaint from anyone involving anything but an on-track incident

so the LAST thing we need, is ignorant morons like you two coming to the track simply to nitpick and criticize everything from the time they enter the gates to the time they drive home

unlike you two, I am able to visit every other track in Ontario and, get this, ENJOY THE GODDAMN RACING

I realize this is a foreign concept to you lot, but it is entirely possible

* too strong*

It would be very easy to goof on several aspects of you personally and your lack of a racing background but I think I will take the high road here .

Spencer the consessions at Sunset are horrible for many of the reasons I have pointed out . The lack of any adult supervision of the kids that work in them to the many unhygienic practices . On Thursday night during a slow period at the concession stand my girlfriend went up up to the counter to get coffees and two of the young boys that work in there were sitting on the counter where the food is served . She politely told the boys that many people would not care for people sitting on a counter where there food was being served to witch the kids rolled their eyes and hopped off the counter . Going from there to the condiments table that was a total pig pen and obviously hadn't been wiped down maybe all night she discovered someone had filled the sugar dispenser with salt . Try to remember this is a woman that was none to happy the last time she went to Sunset and I had to talk into going back . She also attends about 15 to 20 nights of short track racing a season but guess what I bet there is no way in hell I can talk her into going back to Sunset this year. There were several other instances I could state but since your attitude is what it is I really don't see a point in it . For what its worth I have attended races at Sunset since the place opened in 68 and under every owner the place has ever had so I have seen the place run right and run wrong .

You really should get out there and see how places like Barrie , Mosport , Oshweken , Merritville , Oswego , Lancaster . Rolling Wheels etc are doing things because you just might find out how behind the curve Sunset really is .

My girlfriend and I speak to racers and race fans pretty much every day of the week and will be more then happy to convey our experiences and your attitude as representative of those of the track.

in our defense

if the one thing we're "behind the curve on" is our concessions, I feel we're doing a spectacular job

for what it's worth, until you work at the speedway, you really have no understanding as to how difficult it is to find reliable help

case in point, the concessions on that particular night

at the other end of the speedway, drivers were delighted and overwhelmed with the service they received from our tech staff, pit gate staff, promoter etc.....

if you insist on coming back to sunset with the intention of bad mouthing everything, try, just once, to focus on the positive aspects

it may add some credibility to your "reviews"

Spence that's cool you are a loyal soldier and a true worthy representative of Sunset, and Glen's philosphy. Maybe if there is any Draino left you could pass it on to the canteens.Instead of addressing the problem you say there is no problem. Its a Dumpster worthy of your eloquent management and announcing skills,if you think that the condition of Sunset speedway is fine then your standards in life must leave a lot to be desired.

You make it pretty hard for anyone to take you serious Spencer since  you need not go back any further then the thread I started about the invitational to see where I mentioned the weeds had been cut and the grandstands had been repaired properly among other things.

I was working at race tracks before you had ever seen one and have worked at more of them then you have been to.

If you really think the consessions at Sunset are spectacular you are delusional and going into this discussion I realized you had a very limited racing background but I did think you could be some what objective or at least honest but I see you can be neither.
