I work on my race car every night of the week, is that enough? I'll just get outlawed by Sunset anyways if I get any faster...

There hasn't been any activity on this board in two days before we got on it so what's the difference?

thunder the thread had been active everyday since it started, maybe some of us come on here to broaden our horizons, not to read a lot of posts that could be sent in a pm. yourselves Barrie97 Kane etc have alto of great subject matter but sometimes its strength gets lost in the drivel.

Well, if you like I could post my review of the "racing" at Sunset last Sat. Not exactly "glowing". I think I'll post it anyway because it needs to be said.I went looking forward to a good night and with no preconceptions. I believe in going into something with an open mind, especially since it was my first trip there this year. My expectations were based on how Sunset used to be. It's not that anymore, sad to say.
The CVM's delivered as fine a show as I've seen from them and the little figure 8 thingie was the next most entertaining part of the night, but the Sunset regs blew chunks as did the facility and I won't waste a moment or a dime going down there again anytime soon. The negative comments posted previously in whatever thread are not without merit! Actually they were pretty much accurate! The "dump on the lump" indeed! Sorry to disappoint Spencer (vested employment interest) and mipro etc. but there's no excuse. Btw, what the heck is up with allowing people, including kids, to cross a "live" speedway, even if it is under yellow, to get to the infield pits or back?? I saw this several times during the evening and it was mind boggling that this is allowed. Oh, the repeated calls to "move off the front fence" were noted, by me anyway if not the "offenders", but letting anyone other than track officials on the racing surface of a "hot" track is just irresponsible. I'm sure the track's insurance carrier would just love that one!
The llm feature was nothing but the Chris and Tom freight train parade (the only two cars to actually make a racing pass on anyone in the feature with Morrow winning by a straightaway over Walters who had half a straight on #3 finisher) and the Indiana Jones scale sand storm in the RR feature was ridiculous. Spectacular, but ridiculous as it gets. The stupidist thing anyone could have done was to dump tons of fine sand in the inside of the corners for a one-off atv extravaganza! Now, everytime a car touches the inside of 3-4 in particular, but the 1-2 corner as well (which is something they've been doing there since forever) the car either gets pulled into the stuff and stuck at the drop of a hat because it's impossible to drive themselves back out again or/and you get the huge dust storm and a twenty minute cleanup while they sweep all that crap back off the track. What a complete joke!! I couldn't believe that someone would do something so assinine to the track. I would hope they don't plan to leave it there, but those areas are forever altered now.
Even my 8 year old grandson, who was very nearly born at a Sunset Alstar appearance, wasn't impressed, asking me on the way home if we could go elsewhere (...Barrie) from now on. I told him that would not be a problem. For the same admission price we'll go to a "real" speedway for some actual racing with passing and everything. There's a reason that Nascar allows it's name to be plastered all over and sanctioning fees are only part of the equation. Having a facility worthy of their "brand" counts for a lot.
It was good to see the 47 "back home" but when the feature rolled around it was rather pathetic. Big fish in a small pond, to coin a phrase, pretty much sums it up. By half way a third of the starting field of 18 was gone with much adavncement of position due to attrition and relining due to pit stop visits by many. I predict a top five finish in points in spite of his current spot of 20th because there is no competition for him.
Lame-o night overall. Thank goodness the CVM's were there. Actually they were the main draw south instead of north to begin with. I still had to pull rank to convince the others we should go to Sunset. Won't happen again.

It sure doesn't show it. Your 18 second lap times have not gotten any better in the two weeks I've seen you out their, and getting lapped 2 laps into the feature? than getting into everyones way after that? Than coming on here and replying to everyones post acting like your all that. Maybe you should of started in the Charger Division.

Dude, chill....he literally does work on it every night...AND his lap times were 17.6-17.8 those were his first two nights on the track...the first night he didnt even get to practise as he had to work....I cannot believe this attack....atleast he put his name on his posts and incase u didnt notice, i would love for you to point out ONE postthat mkaes him look like he is all that...I am not just sticking up for him cause we are firneds....I am sticking up for him because this is a senseless attack hidden behind a poor attempt at a screen name...further solidifying Sunset's reputation...and what he said is true....the barrie cars that are fast...u do outlaw! And don;t bring this onto me saying i suck and blah blah blah, because i know i do....but we do our best and we put alot of our time and effoprt into it....why don;t you post up your name on here so we can all see who you are?

majestic whether thunder was lapped or not is a moot point his times are a moot point. what i tell my kid is first or tenth it does not matter. first you have FUN, second as long as you get all that you can out of the car and yourself as a driver then hold your head high. do not bash another person program until you walk in his shoe paid his bills and worked his job. you sound exactly like what you accused thunder of,knowing all that.

I'm going to give my reply to Majestic, and then I'm going to let this whole issue go... Maybe I shouldn't have said what I said, but it is what I think, and I still think that way. I was upset about Sunset outlawing some Barrie cars, and I am fully in support of a Invitational at a "neutral location" as it has been suggested here. I think it's a great idea. I am new, but I've been around a little bit. New as a driver, not new to the Speedway. The track timed me at 16.9 on Saturday, which is much better than I thought I would be at this point. I have some real good people helping me, I would give them credit first - before me taking credit as to how well I have been doing. I did get lapped early in the feature, true, but I have to find the limitations of the car, and I went too far, that was why I spun and went a lap down. No caution flag flew for my spin. I tried to stay out of everyones way, and believe me that has been my first concern in these last two nights of racing. But I'm going to tell you this, I don't think I am all that, and if you speak to the people who know me, you will find that out. Or come and speak to me in person, I'm real easy to find. And yeah, I'm having lots of fun there hill3.
