Danny Benedict is Set to Show Off New Colours for the 2018 Season

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

Already busy getting things ready for the upcoming schedule, Danny Benedict has added another item to the #54 team’s pre-season checklist. The Orono, Ontario driver will debut a fresh colour scheme when the crew rolls to the line to kick-off the year at Sunset Speedway and their limited schedule on the APC Pro Late Model tour. The 21-year-old wheel-twister – who began his career in the provincial karting and Mini Stock wars – says it was time to give his gear a makeover for 2018.

“Logging the Fall Velocity checkered flag as my first career Late Model win looks great on a resume, but we need to have some strong runs throughout the entire season; both here at home and on the road,” said Danny Benedict, who graduated from Algonquin College. “The new colour scheme will be a step in the right direction and give us a fresh look to go along with a new attitude on the track.”

Benedict says the crew spent most of the off-season tweaking the Shaw chassis they rolled out of the box in 2017 and putting the finishing touches on the car they acquired from APC tour front-runner Shawn Chenoweth. The driver knows the late nights and hard work by Dale, Max, Sam, Catrina, Jason, Graham, his Dad and even his Mom and sister Julie will pay-off when the new season gets underway.

“Every team in the sport is going through the same thing right now,” said the young speedster. “Sometimes it seems like we’ll never be finished on time, but it always comes together. It can be hectic, but its also a lot of fun. I’m confident that we’ll have everything done in plenty of time for the Saturday, May 5th season-opener.”

After recording 4 top 5 and 8 top 10 runs, while finishing 14th in the Division 1 standings at the popular venue north of the GTA, Benedict says he’s looking forward to a solid start to the year. His first season with the APC tour will be a new experience, but the series visits some familiar territory, so there shouldn’t be too much of an adjustment along the way.

In addition to the new colour scheme, Benedict Racing is happy to welcome The Homesmiths Royal Service Real Estate Brokerage to their marketing partnership group of Shaw Motorsports, GTA Racing Design, B & W Enterprises, Baudo Auto Service, Hoy’s Garage, Mark Rainford Auto Sales, Mayhew Graphics, Kim Irwin of Irwin Tax, Dan McHattie Racecars, L & H RV Sales & Service and Clarke Motorsports Communications. The #54 crew welcomes inquiries from additional interested sponsors. To learn more about opportunities with the team, contact danny.benedict@hotmail.com.
