A busy schedule is shaping up for 2016 at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Saturday, March 5, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – The 2016 calendar will have less dates compared to 2015 but the nights will be as busy as last season with several new things added to the schedule that will include a total of 18 programs.

The season will start on May 15th with the first of three race of the new Race for the Cure Sportsman Series with a 100-lap event paying $2,000 to the winner along with a full program for all other divisions. The Modifieds will highlight the night on May 22nd as the first Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals Modified Series will be presented with a 125-lap race with $5,000 going to the feature winner. A full program along with a special 25-lap Semi-Pro race will be on the calendar for the final Sunday of May.

The month of June will start with a group that will return to Cornwall after 8 years of absence, yes the Empire Super Sprints are back on June 5th! A full program along with a visit of the Eastern Ontario Vintage Club is on the table for June 12th as the Ultimate Pro-Stock Series will highlight the evening with the 2nd edition of the Danny Lefebvre Memorial for Mini-Stock on the 19th. One of the biggest events of the year will close the month of June with the presence of the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Series with a 100-lap Modified event!

With 5 nights of racing, July will be the busiest month on the calendar! It will start with the Go Nuclear Late Model Series along with the Autograph Night on July 3rd. The second event of the Race for the Cure Sportsman Series will be run on July 10th with the Modifieds having a 50-lap event counting towards the DIRTcar Regional Bonus. Sprint fans can put an X on the 17th as they will have a double dose of Sprint Car action with the Patriot Sprint Tour along with their smaller cousins, the Lightning Sprint that will hold a Canada-USA Challenge. A complete program is on the card for the 24th with the SpeedSTR and Slingshot making their annual trek to the speedway for that evening. For a second month in a row, a big event will close out the month as the 2nd round of the Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals will be presented with a 125-lap event as well as the DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series that will compete in a 50-lap race.

The month of August is always spectacular with the season ending and action on the racetrack to finalize all point battles. The Race for the Cure Sportsman series will end on August 7 with a 100-lap event with the series champion being named. On the following weekend, the Modified will share the spotlight with the second visit of the Lightning Sprints, a 50-lap event is on tap for the Modified counting towards the DIRTcar regional bonus series and a guaranteed spot for Super DIRT Week. On the 21st, the Pro-Stock will have an extended race along with a complete race program and the Fan Appreciation night will end August on the 28th with the final visit of the Vintage Club and a Semi-Pro invitational.

Only 2 events in September but they are some of the most important and popular of the calendar! On September 4th, a DIRTcar doubleheader with the DIRTcar 358-Modified and DIRTcar Sportsman Series along with the final point’s night. The 2016 will end on September 11 with the annual Enduro, an afternoon of fun and excitement!

Again we are presenting a busy schedule with some additions and returns along with a large variety in classes that should please our race fans. The countdown is on! A little bit more than 2 months left before opening night!
