Travis McLean Survives Sunset Chaos for Top-10 Finish
INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite the high temperatures and contact on track causing trouble for his competitors, Travis McLean made his way through the chaos for a top-10 finish on Sunday at Sunset Speedway.
McLean started off the afternoon by placing eighth and ninth in his pair of qualifying heats.
Starting 14th for the 50-lap feature, he dropped back a spot in the opening laps, but avoided a pair of incidents to crack the top-10 as of Lap 18. Restarting 10th with 32 laps to go, he’d remain there through the middle portion of the feature, trying to find the quick way around the oval. Unfortunately, he would get sideways off of turn four on Lap 38, going around for a quick spin for the race’s sixth caution. Restarting from the tail of the field, he would battle hard through the final laps, crossing the finish line in eighth. Notably, that marks his fifth consecutive top-10 finish.
