Peterborough Speedway Summer Toonie Night Includes the Ontario Legends Series

By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media

With just a couple of events remaining in the track’s 2018 regular season schedule, the Trailers Plus Ontario Legends Series will join with the home track Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Super Stock and Late Model divisions; plus the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series for the year’s final Summer Toonie Night – presented by Pepsi – Saturday, August 25th at Peterborough Speedway.

In the tour’s most recent event – Saturday, August 18th at Sauble Speedway – reigning champion Matt Haufe picked-up the win and earned a guaranteed starting spot for the U.S. Legends Asphalt Nationals coming-up in October at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring. Haufe claimed the checkered flag and secured the National Championship at the event in 2017. Kevin Foisy, Joe Adams, Parker Traves and Jason Legge followed Haufe across the line at Sauble.

Following this weekend’s start at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, the Ontario Legends Series will hit the road for a trio of September dates before returning to Peterborough Speedway – October 5th through 7th – to crown this year’s champion during the 26th annual Autumn Colours Classic.

Make your plans now to be part of this exciting motorsports experience. The final Summer Toonie Night – presented by Pepsi – of the 2018 schedule is Saturday, August 25th at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval. Spectator grandstand admission is just $2.00 and there will be a fan appreciation driver autograph session at intermission. Pit gates open at 1:30, with general admission access at 4:00. The first Great Canadian RV green flag is set for 5:00.

See www.peterboroughspeedway.com or the track’s social media platforms on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and schedule information.

Don Arnott (#12) and Matt Haufe – in Kevin Foisy’s #57 – fight for a spot during July’s Canadian Legend Car Asphalt Nationals finale at Peterborough Speedway.
