WeatherTech Racing Ready for Canada

BOLINGBROOK, ILL., (July 4, 2018) - WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Jeff Segal (Miami, Fla.) along with the Scuderia Corsa team are heading north for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix to run at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), July 6-8.

The team is coming off of a seventh place run just two days ago in the No. 63 WeatherTech Racing Ferrari at Watkins Glen where everything conspired against them for six hours, but they still managed a seventh-place finish. The 2.4-mile, 10-turn track located 40-minutes north of Toronto is a driver favorite for its classic layout and fast corners. MacNeil is fourth in GTD points with 126 coming into the track formerly known as Mosport. The downforce of the Ferrari 488 and the driver's familiarity with the circuit will be the key to a successful run on Sunday.

"I race at CTMP twice a year in a Ferrari, so I know my way around the track," MacNeil said. "Just about everything that could go wrong, including a fire, did go wrong at The Glen last Sunday, so I am hoping that everything will go right this Sunday. I like the track and have done well there in the past. Jeff has a strong history there as well and we are looking for a result this weekend."

"Very much looking forward to CTMP," Segal said. "We had a productive weekend at Watkins Glen but just had too many things to overcome during the race to get a result. We were there at the end but needed track position. At CTMP we are going to take those things and turn them to positives. I've done well at the track in the past, been on the podium and have qualified at the front. We are looking to build on the strengths from Watkins Glen. CTMP has several medium to high-speed turns and that is where our WeatherTech Ferrari shines."

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will be televised, delayed, Sunday, July 8, starting at 4 p.m. ET on FS1.
