BRETT TAYLOR SCORES ANOTHER TOP TEN FINISH

June 16, 2018. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) returned to action for round two of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past Saturday night at Jukasa Motor Speedway near Hamilton, ON. Brett Taylor in the “Days of Thunder” inspired #46 iRacing.com/CBRT Dodge posted his second top-ten result at the renovated oval as he looks to continue his charge toward the Josten’s Rookie of the Year award.

The 200 lap feature event under the lights had two scheduled competition caution periods for the teams to service the car, however a bit of confusion at the first caution actually worked out for Taylor in the #46 iRacing.com/CBRT Dodge.  Instead of pitting as scheduled Taylor stayed out and while he did go a lap down, he was the recipient of the free pass and back on the lead lap following a second caution period.

Taylor would make his stop for fuel and tires later in the race and with fresher rubber than others fought his way forward in the field.  In the closing laps Taylor was battling with the #19 car when the other driver made an overly aggressive move causing both to spin and bring out the fifth caution of the night.  With only a couple of laps remaining Taylor hustled his #46 iRacing.com/CBRT Dodge to an eighth place finish.

CBRT General Manager Joey McColm was thrilled to see another solid finish for Taylor.  “This is the kind of start to a season that will win Brett that Rookie of the Year award,” he said.  “Consistent finishes, even with a late race spin that wasn’t of his making, that’s the sign of a pro and someone who’s working with the rest of the team and building momentum”.

McColm was also competing on Saturday in the #1 CBRT Dodge. McColm’s night would be a difficult one as he suffered two punctured left front tires.  “One of the control arms was rubbing on the tire and wasn’t something we could fix at the track so it finished our day early.  But the real news is Brett and how well he’s performed through the early part of the season” said McColm.
