Wally Wilson Scores Pair of Top-12 Finishes over Canada Day Weekend

Competing in two different series at two separate tracks over the Canada Day weekend, Wally Wilson walked away with a pair of top-12 finishes.

The weekend started off for Wilson at Sauble Speedway behind the wheel of the No. 69 Outlaw Midget for his second start of the season. Battling the heat, Wilson would score a sixth-place finish in his heat. The team would make adjustments, and the cooler conditions for the feature played to his advantage as he was able to make his way from the back to cross the finish line with a sixth.

He would then head over to Sunset Speedway on Sunday, looking for a solid run behind the wheel of his No. 69 OSCAAR Modified. He started off the day by finishing seventh in both of his qualifiers.

Starting 19th for the 40-lap feature, he would make his way up to 18th by the first caution at Lap 23. Over the next 13 laps, there would be a series of seven more cautions, with Wilson able to escape each of the wrecks without any damage. This worked out to his advantage as when the race was called two laps shy of the scheduled distance, he was running in the 12th position. It marks his best finish thus far of the 2018 OSCAAR season, and best career Sunset Speedway modified finish.

The OSCAAR Modifieds will be back in action at Kawartha Speedway on July 13 alongside the OSCAAR Hot Rod Series, Bone Stocks, and the Ontario Legends Series as the track plays host to day one of the Canadian Legends Nationals. He will be behind the wheel of the Outlaw Midget before then, though, taking part in the event this Saturday, July 7 at Peterborough Speedway.
