Coverage not on speed tv in 2008
« on: March 22, 2008, 08:59:31 PM »
USAR has signed an agreement with Versus to air their 2008 race season. This channel is not available on cable in Canada so the only way to follow the series this year if you chose to is thru their website. Benny Gordon won the opening event at Lakeland Florida .

That really sucks as i loved watching the races on Speed. Do you think NASCAR had anything to do with this?

The press release states that the change was made due to the fact that Versus ,which was formerly the The Outdoor Channel, reaches two million more homes than Speed . Very few cable companies in the US carry Speed as a component of lower tier priced service and USAR management felt they would get more bang for the buck making this change in tv coverage. I have noticed  that their was a one sentence mention on the bottom scroll of Gordon's victory on the Speed Report but no footage .
