Hartman And Farrow Make It to Victory Lane

Varney, ON – Fans this week were treated to some of the best close racing this track has seen to date.  Each week more fans and drivers are discovering Full Throttle as the way to start off their weekend action and action was what the drivers delivered.

In the Mini Stocks although there were two different winners both features almost played out the same.  In feature one #51 Clark Hartman of Waterloo would find himself taking the early lead and stretching it out on the rest of the pack until a lap 13 caution would bring the field back together putting #50 Chad Corcoran from Milton on the outside and #36 Corry Young from Owen Sound in his rear view mirror.  With the drop of the green flag Hartman was able to pull past Corcoran but had Young right on his bumper inside and outside for the last 7 laps.  In the end it was #51 Hartman, #36 Young, third was #50 Corcoran, fourth #35 Tim Tolton from Guelph, and rounding out the top five was #9 Tessa Cremasco from Arthur.  Feature two found #36 Corry Young starting up front and building a sizeable lead on the rest of the field while #51 Hartman worked his way through the pack.  This time it was a caution at lap 16 that would bring the field back together and set up a four lap shoot out for the checker.  In the end it was #36 Young, followed by #51 Hartman, in third was #35 Tim Tolton, fourth #9 Tessa Cremasco and fifth T.J. Edwards from Fergus.

V8 Thunder Stocks had the first double feature winner of the night as #36 Ken Grubb from Walkerton would find his way to Victory Lane but it was not an easy trip.  In feature one Grubb found himself starting from the sixth position and could only watch as #27 Mark Fenton from Tiverton looked like he was going to go pole to pole but by half way Grubb had worked his way to second and as the handling started to go away on #27 he took the lead bring #17 Tristan Gill from Waterloo along with him.  Although Gill tried to get inside on Grubb he was able to hold him off with third going to Fenton, fourth was #47 Jason Lawrence from Sauble Beach, and rounding out the top five was #05 Steve Brook from Hillsburgh.  Feature two would find Grubb going pole to pole in this one but he would have to contend with the #17 Gill for the entire 20 laps as the youngster tried everything he could to get past him.  Third was #47 Jason Lawrence, fourth #27 Mark Fenton, and fifth #05 Steve Brook.

Pure Stock action did not disappoint fans with lots of paint traded between competitors and a few cars tore up along the way.  In feature one once all the cautions were out of the way it was #17 Nick Clarke from Mount Forest back in victory lane after working his way from the back of the pack.  Second was #01 Travis Farrow from Dromore, third #14 Luke Bos from Conn, fourth went to #95 Jonathon Bates out of Owen Sound and rounding out the top five was #34 Don Tremble out of Durham.  Feature two would finally see #01 Travis Farrow rewarded for all of his hard driving this season as he would find his way to victory lane for the first time.  Second would go to #14 Luke Bos, third #73 Adam McCulloch from Owen Sound, fourth was Jason Tolton from Fergus and rounding out the top five #34 Don Tremble from Durham.

Open Wheel Modified action gave us another double feature winner for the night in #8 Gary McLean from Conn.  Feature one would find #8 Gary McLean starting near the back of the field and having to work his way through traffic to gain the lead from #47 Brian McLean of Conn who would end up second, third in this one went to #23 Paul Milligan from Innisfil Beach, fourth #79 John Harper and fifth #36 Gary Elliot from Waterdown.  Feature two would see the 8 of McLean go green to checker followed by #47 Brian McLean, third was #4 Aaron McLean of Mount Forest, fourth #19 Dean Scott from Beachville and rounding out the top five #36 Gary Elliot.

Crazy Train action this night would see a red flag right after the start of this race a hard wreck for Here We Go in corner two seen the driver of the third car shaken up.  Once the cars where straightened out and things got going again it was the Rockford Rednecks taking the checker this week.  Second went to Texas Trainsaw Massacre from Elmira and third was the Jonathon Bates team from Owen Sound.

Next racing action will be this Friday June 27 at 7:30 for Thunder Stocks, Outlaw 4 Modified, Mini Stocks, Pure Stock and the Crazy Trains.  For full details check out the web site at www.fullthrottlemotorspeedway.com for the Facebook page at Full Throttle.
