Edie Captures First Career Win In Superbike Thriller

Saskatchewan rider Bodhi Edie captured his first Pro Superbike win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Saturday, August 10.  Edie, 8-time Series champion Jordan Szoke of Brantford and Uxbridge native Alex Welsh, engaged in an epic back-and-forth 20-lap feature race battle. Edie and Szoke, both riding BMW Motorrad S1000R’s, finished just 0.132 seconds apart.  Local rider Welsh was also right with the front runners eventually finishing in third, 0.311 back.

Defending champion Jodi Christie of Keene, ON was the victor in the Hindle Exhaust Pro Sport Bike race, beating Caledon’s Kristopher Garvie to the line by 3.620.  Calgary native John Ross MacRae finished third.

The Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup held it’s first of two weekend races, with defending Series champion Steve Crevier of Maple Ridge BC winning the 14-lap feature.  Toronto’s Michael Taylor finished just 0.133 seconds back.

The Superbike Doubleheader Weekend concludes on Sunday with practice sessions for all six of the classes in the morning plus the Honda CBR250R Series will hold its second race. The rest of the races continue in the afternoon starting with the Hindle Exhaust Pro Sport Bike followed by the Bazzaz/Inside Motorcycles Amateur Sport Bike, Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup, Mopar Pro Superbike and Magneti Marelli Amateur Superbike.
