So far the new owners aren't keeping up to there word, I figured we would have had the general meeting by now. I'd like to get started on my car to. Would be nice to know before the snow hits.

I have also herd the rules will be staying the same  but that they had not ruled out letting in the 16 V cars yet . Shawn your the second person i have herd of  considering building an Impreza . What engine are you going to use  1.8 , 2.0 , 2.2 ?  Are not all the EJ engines that came in the Imprezas 16 V ?
If you are going to use the 1.8 how are you going to get a car that weighs over 2400 lbs down to the proper weight since starting out penalizing your self with extra weight is about the worst thing you can do ? Don't get me wrong because i think using a car with a boxer engine is definitely the hot set up in this class . Having a car with an all aluminum engine a lower center of gravity and 50 % less torque steer then any of the other FWD cars is great but how are you going to deal with the valve and weight issues ?

the weight is no prob the car it 3700 lbs as it sits and my littel black car started out at 3400 and on the track I could only get it to 2400 if they did let in 16v than the 2.2 is the way to go.... you cant kill the engine and it has lots of mid range power but if thay dont than im going to use the engin i used last year but with a 5 spd trany (finaly  ;D ) but if we dont here anything buy the 3rd than im just going to start so we will just see how it go's

3700 lbs Shawn? My '70 Charger had a NHRA weight factor of 3750 lbs... And a B body Mopar is a lot bigger car than that Impreza.

My Thunder Car is very close to 3150, which is our weight break. With my 215 lbs of pure goodness aboard... LOL.

I think you are off on the numbers...

yeah Shawn dude if that is the case then you'll have a much heavier car with the same engine if no 16 valves are allowed....i think you meant a lower number. maybe you'll have to add some weight in there.....you can always just eat more on racing day like I did...lol
