Title: Delaware Board - Please...Introduce yourself!
Post by: Shadowracer on May 29, 2009, 12:35:53 PM
This thread is simply for introductions. If you're new here, or if you're not, why not tell us a little about yourself? This board is about building bonds and maintaining a strong community of Delaware Speedway fans and supporters.

Its entirely optional, but it'd be nice if you would.

My name is Trev. I'm 40 years old and have been a Delaware fan for 39 1/2 them. As an infant, my Mom would park my stroller beside her in the stands at both Delaware and Nilestown while my Dad, Rick Van Leeuwen raced his Hobby/Modified Sportsman, along with my Uncles Ray Eaton and Stan Linkavich. They ran numbers 46, 47 and 48, until Dad partnered up with a friend and built "Rick's Banana" number 6.

The Banana
(http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o37/Shadowracer_photo/Banana.jpg)

Dad quit racing in 1974, already the costs were getting out of hand, but we still came to the races every week and rooted for the guys he'd raced with, like George Wall, Al Patrick and Ron Pearn. As well I got to be a fan during some of the SLM Export A Series glory days, with Earl Ross, Junior Hanley, Speedy Jack Monaghan, Don Beiderman, Russ Urlin, Terry Kitchen and Don Mallat. (Earl was my favorite, and I never appreciated Don Beiderman until I was much older.)

Anyway, not to write a novel, but I'm still out to the track every week. I used to be a quiet fan and a familiar face at the Speedway, but that was it. A couple years ago on a whim I started bringing a notebook to the races and the Shadow Report was born. Since then, I've met lots of great people through that and found out just how welcoming the Delaware communtiy really is. I'm more of a fan now than I ever was, and things just keep getting better. Its a great time of change at Delaware right now, and its cool to be front and center for it!

I can usually be found in Richmond Row, which is normally in the last section of grandstand before turn 1. If you see the goofy tie dye bucket hat, come on up and say howdy.

And, if you're not tired of my writing yet, make sure you visit the Souvenir Booth on Friday night and pick up a copy of the program.  ;)

I guess I don't need to introduce my self you should all know me by now but if you don't I started this ciaos called CRO 10 years ago as a racing fan as most of us here are. It has grown to be the largest Canadian Grassroots racing site. We can get up to 3.8 million hits a month.

I'm looking forward to Visiting Delaware Speedway for my first time I have been told for over  10 years, it's one if not the best Speedway in Ontario.

I was excited that NCASTS (Former CASCAR Series) is back at Delaware where it should have always had a race. I think people expressing this might have helped in the Track or NCATS getting this to happen.

Things I like about Delaware Speedway is the Site is great and the New Online Ordering System is good to see as I for one like ordering tickets online to make sure I can get a seat to an event or seats I want.

The stats are always up to date and the site easy to navigate.

I would have had a bad thing to say but I noticed they fixed it they are doing their own stats no instead of this company they used.

I'm a computer guy so these things I notice and a lot more companies should listen as people will look at your site and make the decision wheather to visit or purchase something from your business.

I have never been there yet and what I have seen from the site I know I'm going to have a good time there.

I would welcome all the new members that are coming from GRR or from the Delaware Site.

I'm a racefan and race history buff who has visited Delaware a few times a decade since the mid-70s. My brother Keith ran a modified there for two partial seasons in 1998-99 and has been most recently racing a Late Model at Barrie Speedway.

Love reading Shadow's reports and like to keep track of the goings on at the other speedways but especially Delaware.

Hello everyone,

I'm one of the moderators here, my name is Kevin.
In addition to serving the racing community here, I race a Thunder Car (hence the name) at Barrie and Sunset Speedways (Barrie is my home track but I try to get to Sunset for Invitationals). Lately money has been tight, I race without sponsor assistance, so I have been helping a few friends with their cars. I will bring the car out a few times this year for select events.

I've been to Delaware a few time and have nothing but good things to say about that speedway and the show there. If it weren't so far to get there I'd be there much more :(

Anyhow you may see me cruising the Delaware boards from time to time, I like to keep up on the goings on of all Ontario racing. If anyone has any questions or problems feel free to message Trevor, Evan or myself and we'll try to help you.

Once again welcome to all fans, participants and staff from Delaware Speedway, I hope you enjoy your time here :)

Well I would be the "Richmond" of Richmond Row and the favourite fan of the #24 Superstock and Open Wheel Modified driver.

Stephen got us all interested in racing when he was 4 and saw his first NASCAR race on TV.  From then on he was hooked on racing and we have come along for the ride.  Delaware has been home for us for Wednesday and Friday nighs for several years.

We look forward to racing this year, if mother nature would cooperate.  ;D

Hey all, John Culbert, Jr. here, hopefully-soon-to-be driver of the #16 Adrenaline MMA Chevy in the Super Stock class.  28 years old, used to race at North Bay Speedway before it close down, and Barrie Speedway.  Definitely a rookie though, I'll try to stay out of everyone's way.  ;D

Engine's almost done, hoping to get on the track SOME time this month...

Oh and if anyone has a carb, distributor, exhaust manifolds, radiator and/or water pump, msg me!  :D

Hey Shadowracer: Did your dad sell his car to Ike Henry?
That looks like the car, Ike had, when I started helping him. Before we went to the Vega bodies.
I grew up around Hank Jamieson's Supermodified before that. I worked at Delaware from 1970 - 75.

A HA! We got a bingo.  ;)

Yep, that car sported a vega body for a couple years after that. I beleive Ike got his number 60 by simply putting a 0 after the 6. It spent a few years afterward looking like this:

Yeah we did some strange stuff with that straight axle, in that banana car. Got wild with the wheelbase. Ike put it in the fence pretty hard in turn 3 at Delaware. Not sure what happened to it.
Gord ( Fuzz ) Hawking built Ike's Vega with Central Chev as the sponsor.  Ike won a lot once Fuzz came on board. Fuzz was like Einstein, a genius.

Gord Hawking Built that car. That chassis was a copy of Ed Howes late model. We copied a car Ken Johnston had bought from Ed. Fuzz had built Ken's #24 1968 Camaro he battled Ken MacKilroy"s #4 Mustang with, in the limited late models at Delaware and Nilestown. Thanks for sharing the picture, it sure takes me back. I had smashed up Ike's car the year before and that one replaced it. That one was gold and was in 1978, in 1977 we had a half blue/half white one. Before that we had white cars.
In '77 Ike wanted white, Fuzz wanted blue, so they split it down the middle. From the infield we always saw a white car. The fans saw a blue car going down the front stretch and a white one going down the back stretch.  That car was evil! The throttle stuck, first night out and Ike put it in the turn 1 fence backward. The next week there was a crash on the back straight. Ike made it all the way through but got hit in the back and spun into fence. We got wrecked 7 weeks in a row, before I tried to knock down the wall at Cayuga.

Thats funny, I only remember the white...but bear in mind I would have only been 6 or 7 years old at the time. I had a program with a photo of the white car...but then all the photos were taken from the infield...so it could very well have been blue on the other side.

This above photo I came across just recently is from Cayuga...I just assumed it was still Dad's underneath.

In 1975 & 76 we had a white car. In 77 white/blue and gold in 78. I went street stock racing in 79 in a 66 Beaumont #72 then in the #42 Joyco 64 Chevelle in 80. Then I moved to Oshawa and lost track of Ike.
I hope I didn't ruin a good memory. If you thought that was your dad's car. We'd built that car from scratch and it was probably our best. Although Fuzz's first car, the white one, was probably the most successful.
There was good racing back then and it got better for Delaware, when Tony took over in 79. We had 75 street stocks and only 24 made the feature. Young guy's like Steve Robblie, Rob Clark, Bill Rowse Jr. and many more, got started racing veterans like Ron Ling and Doug Purdie and eventually Ike Henry and George Wall.
You may be too young to remember the Carling O'Keefe Series, but it and the Export 'A' Series were the start of ASA. Those were the days that the NCTS needs to duplicate. Drivers from the mid western states taking on our best. Big fields and the feeling of something big was happening.

Oh, I remember the Export A series, although through the eyes of a kid. Basically I remember it as those nights when the pits were full of Late Models...we called them "specials" when Ross, Hanley, Biederman etc would come and do like 100 lappers or twin 50's. (The days of Jr and Don coming every week here were still a couple years away...if I recall, Delaware only ran limiteds on a regular basis at the time.)

But I remember a few other cars too, like Brian Setterington and Howie Scannell.

And actually, that old compact class was my favorite, with Shaxon in the purple Gremlin, Ike, and Taze Palmer. (I didn't know it was Taze at the time though...I always thought his name was Wacky Webster  :))

Unfortunately, I don't think they can ever duplicate what went on back then. The racing world has changed too much. If every track was running the same late models like they did back then, then maybe. But I don't ever see that happening. All attempts at re-unification have failed thus far, and even if it had, the money's just not there to bring out mercenary race car drivers who make a living going track to track. And NCTS is insular, and has its own kind of race car, so there's nowhere else to draw from.

But hey, Delaware's got a good program right now, and the SW Ontario racing community is starting to take notice...so I think we're all right down here. It's still the place to be on Friday night.

Those were the good ole days. Guy's like Norm Lelliott' Ed Howe, Bob Seneker, Jerry "the Bear" Makara, Jim Shipway , Mark Martin, Dick Trickle and Benny Parsons and so many more were a pleasure to see and left great memories.
Remember Jim Fenwick, he died way too young and was one hell of a racer. Then there was Marsh and Grant Manning, Ron Pearn, Ralph Featherstone, Mo Merner, Doug Crocker,  Bill Rowse Sr., Bob Wood and his brother Sam on wrenches and the list goes on an on. They sure were big times!

Wow......I remember ALL of these names. I lived within a mile or 2 of the track all through my childhood. Mom and Dad both used to race here in the 60s and early 70s. Dad (Bob Truax) drove sportsman and compacts when I started going. He had a red #1 in the sportsman and drove the purple #2 gremlin owned by Bill Robinson from Delaware in the compacts. He also drove a white #2 the year sportsman and compact ran together for Bill Robinson. He had several cars before that but I don't remember them. Mom,(Chris) drove a red #6 in the powder puffs. 4 major events I remember from the early years was Tiny Tim Wilkins going over the wall in turn 2, Butch Fedewa going through the billboard in turn 2 with his super, Bill Galbraith flipping down the front stretch in his limited stock (he took out the string of lights at the finish line) and Leo Koppens bad wreck in turn 1. My favorites from back then were Lelliot in the #57 super late model, McCllroy in the orange # 4 stang in limiteds and Fenwick in the #5 pinto compact. (besides dad of course) Dad and Al Patrick were always good friends and still are and they did a lot of the construction work at the track in the early years. Dad had bulldozers and dump trucks working there. I can remember them putting in the dirt strip in for the tractor pulls one year. (remember the super spook tractor ?). Jim Patrick and I grew up on the hill together. Shadow, we must have been standing in the same line ups at Bert Lauzons souvenir shop back then. HAHA. I wonder if Tim Vogel still has a lot of his old pics from back in the day. I'd love to see them.

Hah..another track rugrat. We're talking the same era so we must be aournd the same age. I remember Butch Fedewas pirouette from the track to the billboard. (and the delay that followed) and I remember that guy flipping down the fontstretch...though up till now I didn't know who it was.

Anyway, thanks for joining up Supermart. Every once in a while we get to yarning, and its good to have another track rat on board.

Wow Supermart70, I was just thinking about all of those incidents just yesterday when I was reading some of the other postings! My grandmother was with the St John's ambulance crew every week at Delaware, I remember her telling us how Bill Galbraith was doing after the races. It's funny but the one thing that really stands out about that crash is the car taking out the lights across the track, just as you mentioned!
I think I still have the original weekly program from when "Tiny" Tim Wilkins went over the fence!

My dad (Larry Schnittker) raced in the late 60's and 70's first with a hobby car and ending up as a "Rat Racer". Him and Bill Thompson raced together out of Lobo. Dad also grew up around Jack Sharpe and was always hanging around his shop in the village.

I used to sit in my dad's lap and help steer the car to the track as they used to pull it there with a chain behind an old station wagon...I guess there was no way to avoid
being a race fan after that!
I remember corn roasts every night in the summer in the pits after the races and running around the track endlessly as a young boy.

George Jelfs who ran an Amature Sportsman (hobby car) is my cousin and so is Larry Knott from Nilestown.

I don't thinks I missed a race from about 1968 to 1974.
We moved to Sask. for 3 yrs but ended up moving back to London and eventually Lobo so I was able to continue going to the track that I love so much.
It was the first place (legally) I went when I got my drivers licence and eventually I ended up running a season of enduro's before building a truck the first year they went full time. I ran for 5 years and it was the most fun I ever had

We used to play a game in the car on the way to the races, the first one to spot the light's or grandstands as we were driving up to the track got a brand new checkered flag from the souvenir booth. I now play this game with my 2 son's but I usually buy them both something anyway....!

Awesome idea hearing about who people are and their expreiences with DSP.

Indeed it is. We used to have a picture of the 18 car when it had a homespun coupe body similar to the 6...but its been lost to the ages unfortunately.

WOW you guy's really know how to bring back the memories. Supermart70 I remember your Mom and Dad. I remember the corn roast and not leaving until the sun came up. Who did tiny Tim go over? Hint he later drove the orange crate. I visited Bill Galbraith in the hospital. The car landed on his arm. Window nets became mandatory after that. Last I saw him he was racing in Florida, in the early 80s. I was working in the pit tower at the time. Wayne Pilkey lost a wheel and Bill hit it. My stepfather drove the ambulance.

Hey there everyone...my name is Vickie...real original nick name eh? lol

Anyway, I also grew up at Delaware Speedway....the best part was my Dad was Hoppy the Clown as Trevor already knows!  It was great knowing your Dad was the clown of the track but our Mom always had us keep quiet as she didn't want everyone to know lol.  She used to score keep so we had to sit up top of the grandstands in front of her so she could keep an eye on us lol.

These days I am again sitting at the top of the grandstands, just not directly on the start line.

Used to absolutely love Jimmy Fenwick when I was a kid and now living in Sarnia it is kinda funny.  Actually met his wife who used to work at a daycare my son went too.

I'll try to dig up some pics of my Dad and some of the old cars we used to see every week!  Anyone remember Whacky Webster and those amazing popcicles at the end of the races lol!!

Do you guys remember the time that a car ( I think it was Don Riley in a limited stock) took out one of the posts that the infield tower stood on (near were you pull onto pit road now from the pits) and nearly toppled the whole building?!!!! Also I remember Jim Van Patter doing several rolls down the front stretch one time in a silver/red #76. I can't remember if it was a limited or a street stock. It was a ford body but I can't remember what model it was.

Hi everyone...I have been on here many times and thought I would introduce myself.  Most may already know me. Started racing in 69' with this being our 41st consecutive season of Stock Car racing in Ontario. Got the bug as a fan when I was 5 years old and made my first visit to a race track surface in a 55 Chev 2 door hardtop....you won't like this part...in a demo derby. That was July 29th 1967. After 2 years of demo's we went to Mini Stocks, then Hobby's and now Late Models.
I ran Delaware a bunch of times since 1972 with a few victories in heats and a few runner ups in the feature...no feature win. My most memorable Late Model finish was in 2007 in the APC 300 when we finished 13th and amazingly on the lead lap....and it was 150 laps, the most I'd run at that time.  We did finish 11th on a regular night in 08'..no top 10 yet.
My home track is Flamboro, has been for decades. In the past few years we've visited Delaware to run some of the specials on Friday ngihts. My biggest fear was wrecking and not making Flamboro the next day. So, we got a huge blessing with another primary sponsor (Freedom Village) and bought a good used Late Model, mostly for Delaware. Our friend Jeff Lancaster drives our second Late Model on Saturday nights at Flamboro.  We needed to get a number that would work at both tracks. My favourtire number has always been #9, although my favourite driver was #36 Glen Schurr a Super Modified driver from the CNE days in Toronto. My favourite Late Model driver in those days was #9 Vic Parsons.  I was a huge hockey fan with Andy Bathagte being my favourite hockey player, so much so that the New York Rangers have been my team for ever.  Anyway I got the #9 for Flamboro and also for Delaware so it works where we don't have to add a number on the car for either track.
My son David and I will run Delaware for the entire 2009 schedule. I'm hoping for a top 5 feature finish, then a top 3 and you know the rest. We competed against the best Delaware drivers many times at other tracks in Ontario, now we'll be one of the boys here...well, after people get to know us. The Delaware fans are quite knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. We were called outsiders when we'd come three times a year, soon we'll be family.
You can visit our web site www.elliottracingteam.com (http://) (http://) (http://) (http://) (http://) (http://)  there's lots of history for you to read including pictures of all our race cars from the very first Demo race....we have a message board as well.
Glad to be part of Delaware, the most improved track in Ontario.

Does anybody remember the stunt woman that used to get in the box with dynamite and blow it up? Remember Danny Ford jumping the buses on his motorbike and Gary Beck lighting up the front straight with his Export A dragster??

Supermart Gary Beck and his dragster was something to see doing a short run down the front stretch. If not mistaken that was after an Export A series race for late models with drivers like Earl Ross,Howie Schanell,Ed Howe and his second car think driver name (Mair)
both drivers were from Michigan just to name a few. That was a good race series back then.As for the second Howe car think his name was Mair if not maybe somebody could post his right name.

Heh...Ok we ARE on the same page time-wise. Re: racer44 - That business with Gary Beck was probably before the race...they laid down some stuff beforehand and literally lit the frontstraight on fire. That was the Victoria Day Spectacular, so the dragster would have been before the race, and fireworks after. I seem to recall it not being completely dark yet when they lit up the dragster...so it was probably before the race. If it was the Export A series than it was probably in 74 or 75.

The stunt woman with the dynamite escapes me...I have no recollection of that.

Danny Ford. The time we saw him, he'd come back from some kind of mishap and had been out of commission for a while. I remember a program photo of him jumping 2 buses end to end, but when we saw him, he jumped over 10 or 15 race cars. (Dennis the Menace Robertson's blue number 5 was last in line) Only other thing I recall is it was an afternoon race really late in the season, maybe some kind of Oktoberfest kind of thing, because they had to keep the ramps covered until jump time to keep the snow off them. He made the jump, but I never remembered hearing of him after that.

Here's another one: Demolition Football. 5 or 6 cars on one side. 5 or 6 on the other side. And 1 unmanned volkswagen punch-buggy in the middle.

Good times.  ;D

I think the other Howe car was Tom Meier or Meyer?? Dynamite lady was around 69 or 70 year. I barely remembered when my parents brought it up recently.

Hey Gary, nice to see you are a contributing member here now. It's really cool to have really experienced drivers and racing people talking about their experiences and knowledge.

I'm a big fan of yourself and the CVM... I followed that series for a few years before I actually got involved with racing, buying my own Thunder Car, and helping a few other guys here at Barrie with their cars. I was wondering about the #9 when we came to Delaware last week... and now you have explained it  ;D It was a little odd to see you in anything but the #36  ;D

Anyhow sorry about your luck last Friday and hoping to see you sometime soon. It's a little harder to see you in the LM (invi's only and the odd trip to Delaware or Flammy) but you're still plugging away and doing great. Congrats on the 41 years, that's a true milestone to be proud of.

Tom Maier was GoIng
(http://images109.fotki.com/v777/photos/5/58484/2628906/TomMaier61CamaroPitsRear-vi.jpg) Maier later won one of the big Cayuga races in the red Owosso Furniture #40 after he left Howe.

Ed Howe was GOne
(http://images34.fotki.com/v1121/photos/5/58484/2628906/EdHowe60neCamaroRSposed-vi.jpg)

Well except in 1974 when they both took turns in the Brand X Javelin
(http://images32.fotki.com/v1110/photos/5/58484/2628906/EdHoweBrandXJavelin1974-vi.jpg)

I saw Gary Beck do that burnout routine at the Mosport Export 'A' Trophy Series race in 1974. His Top Fuel car was sponsored by Export 'A' at the time.

I saw that. I was at Moss corner. He just idled by us, but you could hear that thing all over the track. Do you remember, King Richard was on the pole for that race in a Monte Carlo, ( the car looked like it was painted with a mop, threw a screen door) Do you recall whose car that was?

Jean Paul Cabana owned the car. Richard was the outside pole and he went off in turn two very early in the race maybe even the first lap. The pole sitter was Bobby Allison who went on to win the race in one of his Camaros.

It didn't take much convincing my dad to take me to a race when I was growing up but there are some big gaps in the mid to late 80s and 90s where I hardly went to any races at all. I have a bunch of things up on a Fotki site: www.fotki.com/RodM (http://www.fotki.com/RodM)

I've been to your site many times before. Hours of fun :D Found it through Canadian Racer. I recognise a lot of the names from my youth but the faces are fuzzy. Funny how that happens  :-\

By the way. I posted better pictures of my Uncles cars over in the Sunset HOF thread, page 3. You had thought the Corvair was a rebody from a car you have a picture of on your site. Take another look and see what you think.

I was actually on my way over to say hi on Saturday and at that very moment my car pulled in. Maybe I'll have some time this weekend.

Look forward to seeing your Mosport pics, I've only got a few Instamatic type shots. It was the summer before I bought myself a camera. Here is Beck getting out of his car after the burnout.

My name is Regi, and My hubby drives the #3 Enduro car. This is our third year, and to date the most fun we've had. Last year leaves something to be desired, as we went through 3 cars in the first 3 races, but that is water under the bridge ;) this year we have the best car we've ever had, but have had no luck to fuel it :( Maybe this Friday at the challenge will be the change we need.  Looking forward to learning new stuff off of this forum :)

My name is Craig Zurbrigg
I've been racing late models for 22 years on a very tight budget
In the early 70's Ken McIlroy raced the #4 Mustang for my father Wayne
I bought that car out of a scrap yard to start racing at Sauble and Varney in 1987
I also sat in the stands at Delaware as a kid and remember most of the names in other posts, and remember the car flipping and knocking down the string of lights
I'm sure dad would love to talk to anyone about that era next time I'm racing there, he still has never missed a race I've been in
Please stop by and introduce yourself, probably Laborday weekend

Heya Racerwife, thanks for coming around. Well make sure to root for the 3 car this weekend!

And Zoom, welcome. Off the top of my head, you drive the white 4 car and you were there at the Partsource race right? Welcome to the boards! Always great to have aniother racer on board. You guys run primarily Flammy don't you?

Its impossible for me to forget that 4 Mustang that Ken Mcllroy drove...growing up, whenever we say that kind of car on the street, my Dad would say "there goes a Mcllroy Mustang" I still think of them like that.

Hi Craig: I didn't know about your connection with Ken McIlroy and had been trying to remember who it was that owned that car. Was your dad also involved in the previous #04 Mustang?

This was from the 1970 season and it is an earlier body (67?) and lighter orange than the #4.  I remember at invitationals in Barrie and from the pages in Wheelspin. The later one ran all over the place.

Heya Brooksie...glad you finally made it over.

For those that don't know, Gary here drives the 57 Powerade Modified. (He usually does pretty good for an old guy.) Gary and I both started out on the same page, racing our dinky cars around makeshift tracks carved out of the top of the hill at Nilestown Speedway. But he ended up driving real race cars, and I ended up yapping about them on the internet.

 ;)

There's a number of photos in the "historical thread" that are from him.

Hi everyone!!  Just thought I would introduce myself; I am Mark, the second half of team Snotrod.  I built the car for Tyssen and I and I am the lucky one who gets to fix the car after every race.  I have been going to Delaware for 23 years now; since I was 3 years old.  My aspirations are to eventually turn my '98 Dodge Ram into a Demar Truck within the next year or so.  I am now on Sid's team, pitting for the 33 and 88 trucks.  Every week I look forward to being at the track on Friday night and getting an extra cheesy poutine in the pits.  I love how Delaware has so much history and I have been researching it for many years.  There are so many good people at the track; fans, drivers and teams and have met very few whom I dislike.  If anyone ever needs a hand with anything, I work in a shop and have worked on cars since I was a kid.  My Dad helped me get into racing when I was 16.  He is passed away now so everything I do, I dedicate to him.  Well, that's me.  See you all at the track!!

Hello Everyone
My name is Matt Shipway, my brother paul is the Driver of the 88 Powerade Modified, im currently going to school for engineering. I have been involved with raciing since i was 6 years old and have been turning wrenches ever since. If it has tires and a motor, i will work on it. I have raced myself at grand bend speedway for a few years before retiring to be a crew member on the mod. I race remote control cars, my cheap little way of still racing. I do prefer sprint cars, but will not turn down the chance to watch a race of any type. Good luck to everyone and see you all at the track

Hey all, I'm Kevin and I drive the #20 Thunder based at Flamboro that visited back at the end of July, beginning of August. I started out racing Challengers back in '89, but up until this year, had never raced at Delaware. Racing at Flamboro had ceased to be fun (for a variety of reasons, not necessarily the track's fault), so I thought I'd try something different.Owing to the fun I had at Delaware, I was seriously considering making the switch to Friday nights, especially considering that my work schedule allows the long drive. However, I think the time has come for me to hang it up, so I guess I won't be joining the SSS ranks after all, It was a blast though, and we got some great video footage. Good luck to all in '11(especially my buddy Juice Box and the #60), I'm sure I'll get there to watch.

Kevin

Hey guys and gals, my name is Dave Bacon.  I've been racing at South Buxton the past 4 years running a partial schedule every year.  The first two years I ran a 4 cylinder mustang, then built a mini mod the following year.  Finally I raced a sport stock last year.  I'll be running at Delaware this year in a old Super Stock again on a partial schedule.  You can check out my teams fan page @ www.baconboys.com (http://www.baconboys.com)
