CBRT HAS SOLID NIGHT IN SEASON FINALE
September 24, 2017. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) hit the track at Jukasa Speedway for the final race of the 2017 NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past Saturday and drivers Larry Jackson in the #25 CBRT/Piloti Ford and Armani Williams in the #28 Race4Autism Dodge each had considerable success at the track formerly known as Cayuga Speedway.
The revamped 5/8-mileoval provided a fast playground for the CBRT cars as they hit the track for practice and qualifying during the afternoon. Jackson would qualify 11th quickest and Williams 13th. “It was good work by the team prepping the cars and nice efforts by both guys during qualifying” said CBRT General Manager Joey McColm.
During the race Williams ran steadily all night long in the #28 Race4Autism Dodge and crossed the finish line where he began in 13th position. “I’m really proud of Armani tonight” said McColm. “This was only his fifth race in the series, he seemed to get better every lap. He did have a little trouble late but overall a really good effort,” he added.
Jackson showed considerable speed during the 200-lap event and had his #25 CBRT/Piloti Ford up near the front of the field during the midpoint of the race. Jackson would come home with a seventh place finish, his fourth top-ten of the season. “I think we showed what we’re capable of tonight,” said McColm. “Larry’s worked hard all year and it’s great to see him with another good result”.
This was the final event of the 2017 season for the CBRT group and McColm said he was proud of what they’d been able to accomplish this season.
“It was an honour to work with so many great racers this year. Our whole team was awesome getting each of the drivers settled in when they were with us, it’s not easy getting the car just right for so many different drivers, but they did it”.
“I’m also really pleased with how many partners joined us at CBRT this year, their support was fantastic. And best of all how many race fans we were able to spend time with at all the events across Canada. It’s great to see the joy on their faces at the tracks. All we did this year gives us a lot of motivation to work hard over the winter and do more in 2018”.
The race from Jukasa Speedway will be broadcast on TSN Sunday October 1st at 11:30AM ET.
