LUCAS OIL CAN-AM MIDGETS RAINED OUT AT LANCASTER SPEEDWAY
The Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget's long awaited return to Lancaster Speedway was decided by Mother Nature Saturday night as the long overdue rain finally came to the Western New York area.
Disappointed in the cancellation was Can-Am Midget President Ken Lorenz. "This is my hometown track and with the new President and GM at Lancaster, Tim Packman, making such an impact on the resurgence of the track, I was so looking forward to being there," said Lorenz. "Our remaining schedule for 2016 didn't allow us to add another date but we are looking forward to the 2017 season".
The Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets head back to Sunset Speedway on Saturday night August 20th, for their 3rd of 4 races scheduled there.
The top five in points are very close with this highly competitive group. Defending Champion Mack DeMan leads with 1633 pts, followed by Ryan Fraser 1575, Rob Neely 1558, Darren McLennan 1556 and Adrian Stahle at 1532. With seven races remaining in the 51st season for the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets, its anybody's guess who will be the 2016 Champion.
