NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES FIELD IS SET FOR THE CHEVROLET SILVERADO 250

Eight Playoff Contenders, Four Canadians and a Former Race Winner Highlight the 31-Truck Field

(BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – Aug. 23, 2018) The 31-truck field is set for Sunday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, August 24-26. This marks the first time that an international track will host a NASCAR national series playoff round, making this year’s edition of Canada’s biggest NASCAR event extra special.

This is the sixth consecutive NCWTS appearance north of the border at Canada’s legendary track. Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Stewart Friesen is the only Canadian among eight drivers, along with Johnny Sauter, Brett Moffitt, Noah Gragson, Ben Rhodes, Grant Enfinger, Justin Haley and Matt Crafton, that have qualified to begin the playoff quest for the 2018 Driver’s Championship starting with the Chevrolet Silverado 250.

For the first time in Chevrolet Silverado 250 race history, a former winner will return – 2016 victor and current NASCAR Xfinity series driver John Hunter Nemechek looks to stand on the top step again on Sunday.  “This season, I’m sharing a seat at Chip Ganassi Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and was not scheduled to run the #42,” said Nemechek. “This weekend, I’m looking forward to racing at one of my favourite road courses (CTMP) and race our family owned Nemco Motorsports #8 Chevy Silverado to continue my growth and development and try and get another win in Canada.”

Also entered are Canadians DJ Kennington (St. Thomas, ON), Alex Tagliani (Montreal, QC) and Jason White (Sun Peaks, BC) – with Kennington and Tagliani doing double duty competing in the TOTAL Quartz 200, part of the Canadian-based NASCAR Pinty’s Series. The weekend event includes exciting action from the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama, the Canadian Touring Car Championship, and the Nissan Micra Cup.

Weekend Super Tickets and Race Day Sunday tickets are available at CTMP gates. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Limited Reserved Camping sites located trackside (some of the best seats in the house), General & RV camping sites, and VIP Hospitality packages (for those who would like to be closer to the action in style) are also still available.
