HALL SWEEPS RIVERSIDE WITH CELTIC AIR SERVICES 50 WIN

(JAMES RIVER, NS – August 19th, 2018) – Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) put together another dominant Riverside International Speedway performance on Sunday afternoon en route to the win in the Maritime League of Legends Tour Celtic Air Services 50. The win was his third on the Maritime League of Legends Tour in 2018 in his fourth start and second straight Legend car victory at the high banked oval.

Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS), returning from an early Summer of competition in the United States, took home second after coming from the rear twice over the 50-lap duration. MacDonald would pick up Fleet Brake Atlantic Rookie of the Race honors over Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS), who also scored his first Maritime League of Legends Tour podium finish in the Celtic Air Services 50. Emily Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS) bested her brother Adam Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS) for the fourth place position in the 15-car field.

Hall, who started seventh on the field, passed Shelby Baker (Fall River, NS) early in the race and never looked back for the win. Baker, who entered as the point leader on the Series, had contact with another car later in the race which resulted in a parts failure and heavy contact with the Turn Three wall. Baker emerged alright from the accident and would be credited with a 13th place finish.

Three-time 2018 feature winner Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS) and leading Fleet Brake Atlantic Rookie of the Year driver Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB) each found mechanical trouble during the race and would retire before the finish of the race.

Austin MacDonald and Cory Hall took home heat race victories. The Celtic Air Services 50 took approximately 40 minutes to complete.
