DIFFICULT WEEKEND FOR CBRT IN QUEBEC

August 12, 2018. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) and drivers James Vance, Brett Taylor and Larry Jackson hit the streets for round number eight of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this weekend at the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres. Vance and Taylor have each posted top-ten results on previous road and street courses and the team was expecting a more positive outcome than what occurred.

Right from the start of practice the #1 ExpoSystems/Houston Ford struggled with handling and Taylor in the #46 OTSFF Rockstar machine was plagued with brake issues.  “This track really eats up cars,” said CBRT General Manager Joey McColm.  “We knew it would be tough but we struggled more than expected.

Vance was the highest qualifying CBRT car and rolled off tenth for the 50-lap race, Taylor and Jackson in his popular #28 Wonder bread scheme would have to fight their way forward from deeper in the field.  And with plenty of aggressive drivers that made everyone’s day even more complicated.

“There was a lot of guys who were way too aggressive out there today” summarized McColm.  “This race is tough enough without guys making moves that have little chance of success” he added.

Vance and his #1ExpoSystems/Houston Ford had contact and suffered significant body damage during the race forcing him to make unscheduled pit stops.  Taylor continued to work his #46 OTSFF Rockstar car continued to battle through issues while Jackson in the #28 Wonder bread car did his best to avoid all the mayhem on track and captured the team’s best result with a 13thplace finish.

“It was a really disappointing weekend overall” summed up McColm.  “We had a few issues that set us back a bit but then in the race with things getting a bit extreme it took away from our performance and we’re here to compete. When we don’t get the result we want though this team digs in a little harder and I’m expecting that we’ll be back on our game next weekend at Riverside” he added.

The CBRT drivers return to action next this coming Saturday, August 18that Riverside International Speedway.  For the latest info & team updates follow @CBRTeams on Instagram and Facebook.
