RANGER POWERS HIS WAY TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH

August 19, 2018. Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge hit the track at Riverside International Speedway in Antigonish, Nova Scotia this past Sunday for round number nine of the 2018 NASCAR Pinty’s Series.  Ranger powered his way forward during the 300-lap race to score a fourth place finish.

Originally scheduled for Saturday night persistent rain postponed the event until Sunday and the compressed schedule only allowed for 30 minutes of practice.  When the race began in the afternoon Ranger was consistently quick in his #27 Mopar Parts Dodge.

During the first of two scheduled breaks in the action the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge the team elected not to pit for new tires and fuel, saving their four fresh tires for later in the race.  Despite having older tires Ranger maintained close contact with the front of the field.

The #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team did bring Ranger to pit lane during the second break and topped up with fuel and changed to four fresh tires.  When green flag action resumed Ranger put on a charge looking to gain positions and moved forward in the field.

Pushing right to the end of the race the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge crossed the finish line with a fourth place finish.

“It was a good day,” said Ranger afterwards. “We had a good run today, we came up with a good finish.  It was a good job by the whole Mopar team.  I had a little trouble with a bump on the track entering turn three, it upset the car a little bit and I had to fight that.  The competition is so close that if the car was a little better there we could have finished higher.

“I’m looking forward to getting back to the track at CTMP next weekend where we’ve won before and going for another victory”.

Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team are back in action this coming Saturday & Sunday, August 25th& 26thas part of the NASCAR Truck Series weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, ON.
