Well whatever you do, just have some kinda deal where the 4 slowest qualifiers go to the back.

Lets face it, there are a few guys that should NOT start up front, and that is just being respectfull of the guys who have their poop together.

The 67 got a flat tire in the feature while starting up front, and its only a mirrace it wasnt a disastor for the rest of them!  And thats not the first time that happened.

all of us slow cars have every right to take our position.. personally i don't, i'm not racing for points, my year is seat time and actually the staff seems to be getting annoyed whenever i tell them i'm starting scratch.. if those guys are so good then they should be able to get around us slower cars..

No TL I dont mean you, you actually can control your car, I mean the guys who drive over their head and think they are gonna win it on the first lap, when in actuality they always go 2 laps down.

i agree, everyone drives over their heads from time to time. At the start of the race I too have to agree a few of the slower cars drive too hard. There hasn't been too much menace caused by it this year though. It eventually works out that the fast 5 or 6 cars get through. Sometimes it's a pain in the butt and other times it's fun passing the slower cars. That's racing though.

I think if BSW wants to add more cars to their field next year the pay outs for the top 10 for this year should be very tempting. Money talks. For all of the drivers that stayed with Barrie this year dispite all of the temptations from other Tracks the reward should be generous. This should have been posted at the begining of the year. We as fans of BSW seen some of the best racing in all of Ontario this Year, for that the Drivers should be rewarded. Besides all of that, not many tracks have a real live PRINCE, their own Hurricane, A RED ROCKET, and lets not forget a ONION expert, with ties to journalism.

I don't see how adding funds to the top 10 helps adding MORE cars.

I think the opposite is true. Add more money to the bottom 10 spots.

You want fast competition throughout the field - make minimum payout $350.00 for last place and I bet a whole whack of cars will show up.

In my opinion, adding more money to the top 10 simply doesn't entice other drivers from other tracks that are already running in the top 10 to move away from where they are now.

The more you pay at the bottom end of the scale, the more likely those that are running at the back can finally start putting money into their cars (instead of just tires and gas) to get competitive - and stay at your race track throughout the season and afford to run the entire race schedule.

Example:

1st: $750
2nd:$550
3rd: $475
4th: $400
5th: $375
6th to last: $350

15 cars show up: Total Purse payout: $6050.00

20 cars show up: Total Purse payout: $8750.00

Point System:

I'd use the Nationwide format including bonus points for leading a lap and most laps lead, eliminate heat points all together and ideally eliminate heat races.

Use qualifying laps + pill to determine order of qualifying. (warm up lap +2)

If you still want to run heat races;

Run all cars two heats of 15 laps.

Eliminate handicap.

Pill determines first heat running order. 2nd heat - inverse.

Average of the heats determines feature starting line up.

Pole gets 10 bonus points
Outside pole gets 5 bonus points.
In the event of a tie: Current Points leader gets pole (first race of the year: past champion, if no; flip a coin)

Last place inside gets 3 bonus points (points racing incentive - loyalty bonus)
Outside last place gets 2 bonus points.(points racing incentive - loyalty bonus)

If declaring "Scratch" - no points awarded.
