The ARCA RE/MAX Series heads to Nelles Corner, Ontario, Canada this weekend for the ARCA RE/MAX 250 at Cayuga Motor Speedway, race 10 of the 21 race season schedule. ARCA RE/MAX Series No Stranger to Canada

Although the Cayuga ARCA RE/MAX 250 marks the series’ inaugural appearance to Cayuga Motor Speedway and first Canadian race in more than 15 years, the touring stock car series has enjoyed a friendly relationship with tracks north of the US border dating back to 1967, when Bill Clemens won a 100 lap race at Capital City Speedway in Ottawa, Canada.

Townley Posts Runner-up Finish in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Feature at Lanier

Less than 24 hours after making his second career start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA RE/MAX Series SunTrust Rookie contender John Wes Townley returned to his racing roots Saturday night in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model feature at Lanier National Speedway.

Townley’s racing weekend began Friday evening when he piloted the No. 09 Roush Fenway Racing Zaxby’s Ford F-150 to an 18th-place finish at the Milwaukee Mile in the Camping World RV Sales 200. After boarding a plane early Saturday morning in Milwaukee bound for Georgia, the Watkinsville, Ga. resident immediately turned his attention to mastering the legendary .375-mile Lanier National Speedway Oval, where he finished second after starting third.

Townley was not the only ARCA RE/MAX Series driver who raced this weekend. ARCA 200 at Daytona winner Michael Annett finished sixth in a Bill Davis Racing Toyota in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Camping World RV Sales 200 at the Milwaukee Mile and Tayler Malsam finished 11th in the Skagit Speedway Dirt Cup 410 Sprint feature in his home state of Washington. In addition, several ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers competed in the Greased Lightning 250 Hooter’s Pro Cup race at Myrtle Beach Speedway, including Iowa race winner Matt Hawkins (finished third), Clay Rogers (finished fourth), Tom Hessert, Jr. (finished 12th) and Bryan Silas (finished 20th).

Roush Fenway’s Stenhouse, Jr. Continues to Lead Point Standings

Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., leads the ARCA RE/MAX Series point standings heading into the Cayuga ARCA RE/MAX 250. The 20-year-old Olive Branch, Mississippi, native is one of four SunTrust Rookies currently in the top-5 in the championship point standings.

Based on the field at both Toledo and Salem i would expect a full field with 34-36 cars especially with the number of developmental teams.. Frank Kimmel is still not on the list but I am sure a potential sponsor would not leave the past and current champion at home.

Also just read this - To give the Sheltra Motorsports team an added bonus, NASCAR Nationwide Series and current Canadian race car driver D.J. Kennington will attend Sunday´s Cayuga ARCA RE/MAX 250 and support the team as they bid to become the first ARCA RE/MAX Series team to win outside the United States since 1992.

DJ can help with Qualifying set up, I've seen DJ race a Cayuga in the last 3 events, but I can't remember seeing him put in that many laps....

I went by last night and the RV park is filling up.

Not sure yet what to predict on the weather forecast, I've seen it change 5 times already in the last 2 days...the hay is getting pretty tall waiting for a clear forecast !
