Humberstone adds Big Block/358 Modifieds and Pro Late Models to weekly schedule

Ontario Track Will Continue to Run DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Expands DIRTcar Offerings for 2013

PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO - For the 2013 season, Humberstone Speedway is expanding its offering of DIRTcar races, adding DIRTcar UMP Pro Late Models to the weekly racing card as well as eight DIRTcar Modified shows to the schedule. The speedway will also continue it's long running tradition of DIRTcar Sportsman Modified competition on a weekly basis.

For the eight Modified events, both 358-Modified and Big Block Modified drivers can compete and earn home track and Safety-Kleen points. Points will be awarded separately for each division based on finishing position. As part of the Safety-Kleen Championship, Modified racers can earn points at tracks close to home which will then be counted toward a region-wide points competition. In 2012, Brett Hearn won the Big-Block Modified Safety-Kleen Championship, taking home $7,500 in cash plus $2,500 from VP Racing Fuels, and Dale Planck won the 358-Modified Safety-Kleen Championship, earning $3,000 from the point fund plus $1,000 from VP Racing Fuels.

By adding DIRTcar Pro Late Models, Humberstone Speedway joins Brighton Speedway in nearby Brighton, Ontario, as two tracks in the Northern States region offering the division. Competing at both tracks may put the national championship within reach for area racers. Last year's DIRTcar Pro Late Model National Championship winner, Bobby Dauderman of Alhambra, Ill., earned a total of 1,487 points competing in 20 shows to take home a $10,000 prize.

"It's great to see tracks like Humberstone Speedway continue to develop their DIRTcar relationship as they expand their weekly racing program. The fans will truly benefit as the region's race teams will have more opportunities to compete," said Joe Skotnicki, Director of Series and Sanctioning for DIRTcar Northeast. "These additions will be especially helpful for some of our western New York racers and Canadian racers, giving them a chance to race in weekly events at a track close to home."

Humberstone Speedway races Sunday nights starting at 6 p.m. For more information about weekly racing at Humberstone Speedway, visit the track website at http://humberstonespeedway.com .

The Super DIRTcar Series and DIRTcar Racing in the Northeast Region is brought to fans by several sponsors and partners including Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Chevy Performance Parts, Gander Mountain, NAPA Auto Parts, Nationwide Insurance, and Safety-Kleen. Promotional partners include the University of Northwestern Ohio.
