Nascar doesnt recognize under 16 yr olds for some reason, I think they said on stage holley picked the awards to give the carbs to I dont think the track had anything to do with it..but if theres nothing to bitch about its no fun on here.. :-*

they sure did recognize him when he paid 120 dollars to race there?

Mitch was not there, as they said he was at a hockey tournament, he will receive his third place trophy from the track, he just was not reconized by Nascar with the placque due to his age.

It is a real complaint though! Seems kind of pathetic in my opinion. He sould have atleast been warned that this was the case so he could have made a decision to chnage tracks if he wanted to. just my $0.02

i think 2fst4u has a valid point "hellothere". if the young gentlemans coin was good enough at the start of the year then the accolades should be his,or refund his money.if what occurred is factual then it is one more example of the 800lbs gorilla not caring where it walks, just caring about dollars.sorry about that it was a typo that spellcheck or tired eyes did not catch.

whats up with the nascar iou's, i'm sure the division sponsors paid the points fund money up front. also i was just talking to mitchs dad, and they had no idea this was going to happen. can u imagine the embarrassment had mitch been there. does anyone know if this happened to any of the other young guns. if barrie speedway doesn't make this right i will personally buy a trophy and give the kid his payout. just the tip of the nascar iceberg, look what it did for delaware.

personally I think Mitch earned it and deserved it. Had the age been a problem then he should have been told earlier in the year, but having not told him anything is definately wrong I think. He paid his money to get a nascar drivers license. So they recognized him to be a driver when they sent him his license. They shouldn't have given a license to somebody then. Nascar should refund Mitch's license money. I think that if you need a license to race and you have to be 16 to be recognized, then Barrie Speedway should only allow people 16 years of age and over race at the speedway. This would solve a heck of a whole lot. I feel bad for Mitch, and I was very shocked that I was given that 3rd place award. If it didn't say "Steeve Melson" on it, I would definately give the award to Mitch irrregardless of whether Nascar recognizes him or not. But I doubt Mitch wants an award with my name on it! that's my 2 pennies on the issue.

Did Brandon receive anything from Nascar, or Desera in the Chargers,  as they both would have been in the same situation. Also did they pay the full Nascar fee at the beginning of the year,  or did they pay something else due to the fact they were under 16?
