JR No Nation Here
« on: February 16, 2009, 10:35:49 AM »
OK we all saw what happened at the Daytona 500 Between Vickers & JR,

I will start off by saying I'm not a JR fan or Vickers. I like them as drivers but I don't by their merchandise.

Yes it was legal what Vickers did and yes JR did what he did because he was mad at what Vicker did.

OK here is what I don't get people boo Busch for going to to Jr's trailer. Busch was a contender in this race and because of what JR did it might have costed him a win.

You can be a fan and have favorite drive and as a fan you have to understand that your favorite driver does something stupid you can still be a fan and say what a bone head move that was. I do that with Jeff Gordon a lot and if he did what JR did I would a agree with NASCAR if they gave him a penalty as they should have given JR.

I totally agree. Listening to sirius this a.m. and you get callers blaming anything they can but jr.  I can't wait for Chocolate to come on at 11 and get his opinion. Bush probably should have won that race, though the best car usually doesn't win. imo the only good thing to come out of the wreck was bush getting involved. Everybody is going to make mistakes. Own up to them.

if it wasn't for the rain coming i would call vickers an idiot for trying to block junior when he had a run and they are a lap down...but j.r. did bump him trying to get back in line...so he is the idiot...but...any day a bush gets knocked out is a good day...i didnt get too see it all but everyone i have talked to said it was probably the worst 500 they can remember....if they started at 12:30 like back in the day, it would have finished.

In the Nationwide race, you can clearly hear Stephen Wallace lift slightly right before he gets hit. So Leffler tries to get back in line, and ends up getting penalized 5 laps. Junior, clearly upset, gets blocked, never lifts, and turns Vickers. Good old NASCAR inconsistency. Gotta love it.

I agree it wasn't my favorite 500. I enjoyed the Truck series race much more then the 500. Glad I went to a party for the 500.

do you expect anything else? its not the first time that nascar has done or not done some thing because jr was involved.

The truck racing is really becoming my favorite. One eason because they are shorter I think. Any Wallace falls in my Bush category also..lol.

Next season they should qualify 25 and then on Daytona Sunday have a 100 lap race for the non qualifiers starting at noon to set the rest of the field.
Then Keith Urban or Brad Paisley do a mini concert while they line them up.
Then have a 400 lap wreckfest.

Not a fan of Dale JR and quickly headed to not being a fan of NASCAR

1) They do not need to run the 500 into night time , more chance of evening showers at Daytona at this time of year. They have the NIGHT race in the summer no need for 1 in feb. Put a stop to the 2nd rate PRERACE junk , the FOX twits recapping their not so STELLAR carreers and get the race going at 12:30 PM.

2) Everything is JRs fault , funny BEING there and watching replays last night and today , heard JR lift twice also saw on 1 replay that it was VICKERS car that waggled and hit the RH front corner of the #88 , not the 88 SLAMMING the lh rear corner of VICKERS. There was hardly a scuff on the RH corner of the 88 after the race.

3) Seems everyone else missed the other BONE HEAD moves of the race.

4) Kyle Bush might have won the race and then he might not have , no one forsaw the #17 winning , the #19 Elliot Sadler was cryin / praying for rain when he was leading and the way things were going if it had not rained it was ANYONES race.
