With the racing fast and furious on-track, there was no shortage of excitement on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway as some new and familiar faces reached victory lane.

Ontario Pro Challenge

The Ontario Pro Challenge Series ran a pair of features, putting on a show both times on-track. Mike Norris scored his first career victory in the first feature, followed by Tim Norris adding another notch to his crown in the second feature.

Chris Bochsler got his first feature victory of the season ahead of Matt Lockwood, Kevin Albers, David Elliott, Mark Klotz, Nick Troback, Mark Burbridge, Chris Howse, Hudson Nagy, and Allie Ditner while Mike Westwood ran into problems.

The second feature saw a late-race battle between Hudson Nagy and David Elliott, with Nagy holding off Elliott for the win. Matt Lockwood finished third, followed by Chris Bochsler. Mark Burbridge marched back up to a fifth-place finish after spinning out from the lead, ahead of Chris Howse, Nick Troback, Allie Ditner, and Mike Westwood. Kevin Albers failed to finish after being involved in two incidents, while Mark Klotz didn’t make the checkered flag due to damage in the first of those incidents.

Bobby Mercer won the first of the two features to pad his points lead ahead of Randy Rusnell, Carson Nagy, Brad Collison, Justin Collison, Jeff Bean, and AJ Miller, as Kelsey Lamont ran into problems.

Shawn Taylor made his way back to victory lane in the first feature ahead of Jake Gilbert, Rich Schwartzenburg, and Kyle Istead. Wayde Thorne crossed the finish line in fifth, but was disqualified post-race. This moves Karl Sault up to fifth ahead of Matt Young, David Gallinger, Jonathan Ayrton, Kaitlyn Wallace, Kyle DaSilva, Erik Dalla Riva, Mike Hooper, Tyler Lewis, and Wendy Adams. Unfortunately, Mark Klotz failed to finish after running into issues.

Wayde Thorne found his way to the front just past halfway in the second feature, but the disqualification in post-race technical inspection saw the win stripped away. This would give Jonathan Ayrton his first career feature victory after a hard-fought battle ahead of Karl Sault, Jake Gilbert, Shawn Taylor, and Kaitlyn Wallace. Dave Gallinger got credited with sixth ahead of Rich Schwartzenburg, Kyle Istead, Erik Dalla Riva, Tyler Lewis, Mike Hooper, Kyle DaSilva, and Wendy Adams. Matt Young was moved to last in the post-race results due to unsportsmanlike conduct.
