Rules Meetings
« on: October 21, 2011, 08:07:52 AM »
I received a letter in the mail a couple weeks ago regarding the banquet and the rules meetings. I cant find it now, but I think it said late model meeting Nov 7th? There is no info on the website (that I can find) so I was wondering if anyone knows if this is the correct date. John maybe you have an idea as to when the meetings are?? Might not be a bad idea to make these times public knowledge so we have a half decent turnout at them. Thanks in advance for any info.
Cheers
Jay

In regards to the rules meeting I think everybody should put forward that the changes made or the changes that we want should reflect what each division needs as a whole. I'm not trying to be overly critical but each division is a group and the needs of the "group" are important.
And above all the most important thing that the technical staff should consider is to develop the philosophy of "Say what your going to do and do what you say"
I don't think we need any more 11th hour rule changes

generally it's drivers/teams input that puts the screws to the divisions, kind of got the place into the mess it's in.

Just hope tech looks further into the glass bodied cars and adds more of a weight penalty to them!

Like them or not the glass bodies are the future of the sport, unless somebody comes up with a better idea. The chances of that are pretty slim so we need to work with what we have. We were told in a meeting some weight was going to get moved higher up and it did, not sure if it had the effect that was desired. It is what is, apparently a whole bunch more will be coming in so get used to the idea. I think the debate is over on that issue....I hope.
My issue is what the rules are going to be and are we apply them equally and unilaterally across the board. That means everybody is treated equally and MUST all follow the same rules. The #60 is doing it's best to put a serious run for the championship this year and were of belief that we have just as good as a chance as the next team provided the playing feel is equal.

GENERAL
The word stock shall be defined as any part for that particular make, model, and year as found in the manufactures
catalogue. Unless specifically noted all stock parts shall be mounted in both the stock location and stock position as
engineered by the manufacture. In addition to the location and mounting, only parts identified in the manufactures
catalogue for that particular make, model, and year shall be eligible. Any deviation to the above mentioned rule shall be
superseded by written updates and duly noted in the specific sub-section of the rules and in accordance with the rules.

For Clarity I would like to make my position on the up coming rules meeting known.
The JWO Racing team does not have an objection with any team particular team. We are not calling anybody out on rules infractions. What we would like to see is a set of rules presented in a matter that is clear and concise with intention of unilateral enforcement. We would like to build a car with the highest regards to the rules and present said car to the Tech Team at Delaware Speedway and be sure we are in full compliance.
Having built a few cars and being involved with many more builds I can say that I would like to build the best car possible to the current rules. If the rules are generally not enforced than why bother taking the time to print them. That maybe an exaggeration but the point I'm trying to make is not.
The rules should be clear and presented in the manner that all the teams are able to take the same advantage of the rules.
