17thRUNNING OF THE SHRINERS CLASSIC SET FOR THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD!

(Halifax, NS – July 13, 2011) The Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman are set to run 50 laps under the lights this Friday in the 17th annual Shriner’s Classic! The Shriner’s Classic is the longest consecutive running race in the Maritimes and one of the most anticipated events on the Weekly Racing Series Schedule. Also on the docket Friday night are the Lumbermart Thunder & Lightning cars, Trucks and Coco Beach Legends. Gates open at 5:00pm, heat races to determine starting positions on the grid get underway at 7:00pm immediately followed by feature racing.

Admission for the Shriner’s Classic is $12.00 for adults; $2.00 for youth aged 8-15; children 7 and under are admitted free. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $15.00 and restricted to those 16 and older.  Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Scotia Speedworld (SSW) is a 3/10-mile asphalt oval racing facility.  SSW is the only venue in Nova Scotia to host a weekly racing series, which runs May through September and features six different classes of racecars.
