Twisted Metal The Theme Of Opening Night

Sauble Beach ON - Fans were treated to one of the most exciting none racing events ever held at Sauble Speedway this past Saturday night and if this crowd was any indication it is going to be a fantastic summer at The Beach!
Things got started on a muddy note as the Western Ontario Outlaws lawn tractor racing club took to the infield track for their first heat of the night but by the time the features rolled around the track was in great shape for some fast side by side racing.  Unfortunately due to technical issues the winners names and home towns are unavailable.
After the lawn tractors where done fans were treated to some outstanding mayhem with the Figure 8 Race that was put on inside of the Demolition Derby ring.  With six drivers taking to the small slick track it was anyone’s race as they slide and banged through every corner.  In the end it would be Andrew Martin from Grand Valley with the win followed by Chris Crannie from Owen Sound and Joshua Archibald for Durham coming in third.
Next it was onto Demolition Derby action with heat derbies for both six and eight cylinder cars.  In the six cylinder division heat one went to Dave Saunders of Conn with Dan Hills of Alliston taking the second.  In eight cylinder action it was John Pinch from Paisley taking heat one, with Ronald McLelland also from Paisley taking heat two and Corey Flynn from Southampton taking the third.  Before the Big Cars took to the ring the four cylinders held their Mini Smash and in the end the winner was Doug Butler from Glen Carirn, second went to Joshua Archibald from Durham with third going to Chris Crannie from Owen Sound.  Then it was time for the Big Car Smash and when the dust had settled it was John Pinch from Paisley taking home the top prize with second going to Dave Saunders from Conn and third going to Dan Hills from Alliston.
To round out the night the monster truck Bucking Bronco was on hand to show off some car jumps and ripping up some grass on the infield.  In the end it was not the show that Bucking Bronco had hoped for as he had to cut his show short due to mechanical issues with his steering but it was a great show none the less.
Next action at Sauble Speedway is this coming Saturday June 25th when The Beach plays host to the top Pro Late Model drivers in the province as the APC series comes to town.  Also on the card will be the Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup, the Ontario Pro Challenge series along with Jr Late Models and the debut of the Bone Stocks new to Sauble Speedway this season, with things kicking off at 6:30PM.
