Howie Crowe Looks to Return to His Championship Winning Form

Once a champion, always a champion.

Howie Crowe has a winning pedigree. The likeable 55-year-old from the Alderville First Nation was a championship winning boxer with United States Marine Corp. On the race track, he has acquired season titles at Kawartha Speedway, the former Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Speedway and the 2016 Thunder Car (now Super Stock) crown at Peterborough Speedway. As the 2018 campaign at Canada’s Toughest 3rd of a Mile Paved Oval draws closer, Crowe and his crew chief Randy Freeman, along with Nicole Delavigne, the Mark Gordon Crew and the Donaldson Gang are fine-tuning the set-up on their #28 machine known as ‘The Hornet’ to make sure its ready for opening night.

“There’s a lot going on during the off-season, but I can’t wait to get back to the track,” Howie Crowe said. “Coming off the 4th turn to that first green flag makes everything worthwhile. Just being around our family, friends and fans every Saturday night gives us so much to look forward to. The year kicks-off with free spectator grandstand admission for the first show. That’ll have the place packed.”

Even though he ran a limited schedule in 2017, Howie Crowe picked-up a hard-fought main event checkered flag and finished 17th in the final point standings. With his top-shelf equipment prepped and ready, the perennial fan favourite says he’s confident of the team’s chances when it comes to adding another championship trophy to his collection of racing hardware.

“I’m excited to get the new season off to a strong start,” Crowe continued. “Our team works their tails off in the shop and at the track. We’re dedicated, strong and experienced. Some people play golf. Others like baseball. Once the weather gets warmer, we just want to race. I’ve been at it since 2007 and my father raced in Ohio in the 1960’s, then picked it up again in 2000 at the age of 63. Larry Jr. started in 2003 and won a pair of Late Model championships at Peterborough. My brothers Eric and Brad also tried their hand behind the wheel a time or 2. Its in our blood and there isn’t any place that we’d rather be.”

For the upcoming season of action at the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City, Howie Crowe’s weekly program will be supported by Eagle Eye Roofing, Black Bottom Sealer and Crowe Boyz Racing, with media and public relations services provided by Clarke Motorsports Communications. The team also welcomes inquiries from additional marketing partners and invites potential sponsors to talk to them at the track or contact the driver for details.
