TOUGH NIGHT FOR TAYLOR, JACKSON SCORES TOP TEN

June 30, 2018. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) headed to the Autodrome Chaudière in Vallee Jonction, Quebec for round number three of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series this past Saturday night.  In what turned out to be a rain shortened race there were mixed results. Rookie of the Year contender Brett Taylor had a difficult night in the #46 iRacing.com Dodge.  However Larry Jackson gained seven positions and scored a top-ten result in the #1 CBRT/ENASCAR Dodge.

Threatening skies surrounded the challenging ¼ mile oval all day however practice and qualifying went on as scheduled.  Brett Taylor in the #46 iRacing Dodge with the “Days of Thunder” tribute look qualified just outside the top-ten with the #1 CBRT/ENASCAR Dodge starting 17th.

“This is a tough track to get a handle on,” said CBRT General Manager Joey McColm.  “Even though the guys started a little further back I knew they should both be able to move up during the race,” he added.

The start of the race was delayed after a passing shower moved through and the track drying took place.  Once the action began for the scheduled 300-lap event it was fast and furious.  However Taylor had his hands full in the #46 iRacing.com Dodge.  When the competition caution fell just after the midpoint of the race, Taylor did not resume his spot on track.  The team forced to stop due to an ill handling racecar.

“This track is one of the most difficult to figure out.  You have to use every bit of it to maximize your performance to get a quick lap and that means getting right up close to the wall. If you’re off by the smallest margin it bites you.  Brett barely touched the wall coming off turn four but it caused enough damage that it ended our night” said McColm.

Meantime Larry Jackson continued his pattern in the #1 CBRT/ENASCAR Dodge as he stayed out of trouble and methodically moved his way up to tenth in the field.  Unfortunately rain returned to the area and forced the race to be shortened to 220 laps.

“Just another great job by Larry” said McColm.  “He always finds a way to pick up spots during the race, really smart drive once again”.
