July 12 Race Results
« on: July 13, 2014, 01:16:01 AM »
Howdy folks!!! Hope your all having a good weekend thus far.. Night #9 of the 2013 season brought about a really clean efficient night of racing at Barrie Speedway with only a single caution in the LLM feature #2 after the first 30 went caution free.. Some good tight battles throughout the pack as a couple drivers claimed feature wins after both have had a bit of bad luck in the past couple weeks with #91 Andre Pepin and #00 Darryl St. Onge taking home the trophies.. Thunder Cars also put on a decent show, with # 00 Luke Gignac notching his 6th feature win of the season after taking the lead on a GWC restart from the outside line past #11 Adam Misener who finished 2nd.. In Pure Stocks it was 2008 division champ #68 Brandon Crumbie who went to victory lane for his first feature win at Barrie since that season.. Crumbie, would survive a late race charge from defending track champ #77 Mike Gettliffe who almost got up inside Crumbie between turns 1&2 on the last lap but was unable to complete the pass... Enough of my ramblings onto the results..

LLM Feature #1 -- 1st) 91 Andre Pepin, 2nd) 31 Rick Walt, 3rd) 69 Al "Red Rocket" Inglis, 4th 12 Dwight Brown, 5th 10 Gord Shepherd, 6th) 00 Darryl St. Onge, 7th) 49 "Flyin" Frank Davey, 8th) 24 Leonard "The Bandit" Johnston, 9th) 79 Cory Horner, 10th) 44 Rob Bromley, 11th) 88 John Mitchell (DNS)..

LLM Feature #2 -- 1st) St. Onge, 2nd) Walt, 3rd) Brown, 4th) Shepherd, 5th) Inglis, 6th) Johnston, 7th) Pepin, 8th) Bromley, 9th) Horner, 10th) Davey, 11th Mitchell

Thunder Car Feature -- 1st) 00 Luke Gignac, 2nd) 11 Adam Misener, 3rd) 21 Desi Walt, 4th) 22 Jason Elliott, 5th) 37 Robbie Sikes, 6th) 64 Ryan Semple, 7th) 7 Joel Hamilton, 8th) 55 Shawn Goggins, 9th) 10 "Lil Gambler" Jordan Latimer, 10th) 50 "Pistol" Pete Marquardt, 11th) 3 Jim Morrison, 12th) 88 Len Beaton, 13th) 54 Ed Cole (DNS)..

Four different heat winners came in the form of Gignac, Sikes, Goggins, and Latimer..

Pure Stock Feature -- 1st) 68 Brandon Crumbie, 2nd) 77 Mike Gettliffe, 3rd) 57 Ryan Toon, 4th) 28 JP Rosevear, 5th) 3 Randi Seguin, 6th) 09 Dean Curry, 7th) 64 "California" Dave Crumbie, 8th) 10 Doug Butler, 9th) 88 Jeremy McLean, 10th) 400 Justin Holmes, 11th) 24 Rick Butler, 12th) 14 Glenn Lloyd, 13th) 35 Chance Isherwood, 14th) 31 Gil Brooks, 15th) 18 Tim Gagne, 16th) 6 Josh Inglis, 17th) 00 Joe Dunlop, 18th) 60 Will Lamantia, 19th) 05 Peter Wakeling, 20th) 8 Paul Bogensberger Jr, 21st) 06 Ryan Hardy (BFRD), 22nd 29 Ray LaHay (DNS)..

I did hear the 06 of Hardy appealed the BFRD given him post race and the decision was reversed placing him at the back of the lead lap cars.. Whatever position that might slot him... ??? ???

As with the Thunders there were no repeat heat winners in the Pure Stocks as Crumbie, Toon, Curry, Doug Butler, Holmes, and Rick Butler all took 10 lap heat wins.. The win was the first in the Pure Stock ranks for the 24 of Butler so props there on what is a much improving driver and team since the opening weeks..

That's all I got for now my friends... Have a great rest of the weekend and hope you all  enjoy Tony's impending victory from Loudon later today!!! ;D...... SIGNING OUT........... FROM THE GONDOLA!!!!

Just like to say 10 car LLM Features are painful to watch......Barrie used to be the track to go to but boy that's changed. Been 2 times this year when I didn't like the lineup elsewhere just because I need to see racing on a Saturday night. It is racing but isn't exciting in my opinion.

Well sorry you didnt enjoy yourself LONGTIME FAN!!! I thought the racing was really good last night with several tight battles and a decent amount of passing.. Was a really clean night in the LLM's with only a single caution for both features.. And if you dont enjoy watching the likes of Shepherd, Walt, Inglis, Brown, St. Onge and Pepin and alike battle it out I don't know what to say as those are some of the best wheelman in the province in my opinion.. I would agree last nights show lacked from a accident/crash standpoint but I don't really care for that kind of "excitement" myself.. I would agree it would be nice if Barrie had a few more cars though, as I think somewhere around 16-18 is perfect for that track.. But its a sign of the times as there's alot of tracks that don't even draw 10 LLM/LM cars these days and I do think Barrie is on the rebound and your likely to see a few more turn out next year if what I've been hearing is true..
