Vallée-Jonction, QC – Autodrome Chaudière officials announced today that an agreement has been reached with American-Canadian Tour (ACT) co-owner Cris Michaud and Serié ACT representative Marc-Patrick Roy to add a second event this season at the Vallée-Jonction, QC speedway.

Série ACT will now head to Autodrome Chaudiere, which is located in the Beauce region south of Quebec City, on Saturday, June 2 for a 125-lap event. The date comes in addition to their originally scheduled visit for Saturday, July 28.

The track began using the ACT rules package in its weekly NASCAR Late Model class in 2017.  In addition to the event agreement, Chaudiere announced their Late Model division will be switching this season to the American Racer tires used by ACT and Série ACT. This will bring the two series even closer together and allow drivers to race in one or the other more easily.

“We’re very happy to have added a second date at Chaudiere, and we’re thrilled the track is using our rules package for weekly racing,” Michaud said. “It’s important to have local tracks using the same rules as regional touring series, much as with our own Thunder Road in Barre, VT and other tracks here in the United States that run ACT rules. We agree fully with the decision and believe it will benefit everyone.”

Chaudiere officials expressed enthusiasm over the changes, saying the possibility for teams to easily participate in more races is a “great step” for the future of racing in Quebec. While the possibility of doing so existed previously, using the same tires will help facilitate this and reduce overall costs for teams. It will in turn lead to more cars and more action for fans, they added.

The Langis Caron 150 NASCAR Late Model event that was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 2 will be moved a later date that is to be determined. Please visit www.autodromechaudiere.com for more information.
