Cameron McGlashan Battles to Top-Five at Sunset Speedway

Despite being involved in a couple incidents throughout the night, Cameron McGlashan walked away with a top-five finish.

The McGlashan Motorsports driver started off the night by placing third in his first heat, despite being involved in an incident. He then posted a runner-up in his second qualifier.

Starting 14th in the 25-lap feature, her remained there through the early laps, though still poised to make his move. He would go to make a pass on Josh Bullen, but contact happened, resulting in Bullen going around on Lap 6. As a result, McGlashan would be sent to the rear as an involved car.

Restarting last on the field, he began to make up ground immediately, running 10th as of Lap 11. He continued moving forward after the restart, moving up to seventh by Lap 16. He would then pass Johnny Paradzinski in the late stages to cross the finish line in sixth. One of the top-five finishers were DQ’d post-race, though, bumping McGlashan up to fifth in the final rundown.

For McGlashan, it continues his streak of finishes no outside of the top-10 in 2017. He will look to keep the momentum going on July 22 at Sunset Speedway.
