CBRT HEADING WEST, LOOKING FOR SUCCESS

July 25, 2017. Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) gets back in action this week in two provinces with three races over four days as the NASCAR Pinty’s Series makes it’s annual swing through Western Canada beginning this Wednesday July 26th.

First stop for the team is Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon with twin 100-lap events followed by a 300-lap race at Edmonton International Raceway on Saturday night.  It makes for a very busy stretch of the season according to team General Manager Joey McColm.

“No question, there’s a lot of work with the travel and logistics but I’m really excited about what we’ve accomplished already this year and we’re more prepared than ever for these events out west.  We’re expecting to have success at both tracks” said McColm.

While this is the first time the series has ever run two separate events at one track and McColm think’s it’s a positive idea.  “I like it for the fans” he explained.  “They get two races that pay points so there will be lots of action” he added.

Returning to action this week for CBRT is Detroit, Michigan racer Armani Williams who will drive the #28 Race4Autism Dodge in the dual 100 lappers in Saskatoon.  Williams made his season debut in June at Delaware Speedway and scored an 11th place result in his first ever series race.

When the series moves to Edmonton International Raceway on Saturday Calgary, Alberta racer Brett Taylor will be back behind the wheel in the #25 Affliction Pipeline Services/Canadian Transport Consulting Inc. Dodge.  Taylor has recorded a ninth place finish in the season opening race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.  This will be Taylor’s oval track debut in the series, he has run a couple of late model events in Saskatoon and Edmonton to prepare for this race.

Practice and qualifying at Wyant Group Raceway will take place in the afternoon and the first of the 100-lap races goes green at 6PM with the second race scheduled begin at 8:30PM. (All times local)

Be sure to check out the new CBRT website www.cbrteams.com and there are still openings for interested drivers to join the 2017 season.  Find out more through the website. The NASCAR Pinty’s Series consists of 13 races on ovals and street courses across Canada.
