What's up with the track? Drivers meeting not rescheduled. A couple of touring series not returning. Track not returning phone calls. Anyone got any information?

I don't know, I do know that Social media(ie.a working website,an updated Facebook page and Twitter) are all huge promoting tools for obtaining fans and car count at tracks and this place is seriously lagging. The website has been under construction since season end and the Facebook page is rarely updated. We were seriously contemplating running Varney this season but I'm definitely second guessing, it's February and we don't have a set of rules or a schedule.

ive heard from a few people that varney is either closing or running limited schedule....i love the place and cant wait for a schedule so i can plan my visits...one big mistake they made was cancelling their may 2/4 invitationals, that was always on everyones calender like octoberfest and autumn colours are, then they started changing things with making people pay extra or buy a memebership, then stopped it all together..

No Varney booth at the CME. Surely someone from Varney Speedway management reads this site and can shed some light on the future of the track.

certainly not a good way to treat the people that put on the show and help bring in the fans for the track that made you money.

The track itself is awesome. But they pissed on everyone that showed up for the year end special this past fall.

Plus my personal favorite: I went to race one night hauled all the way from Orillia, destroyed my car, went up for my payout....its 67.50 ......he hands me 70 cash.....and makes me pull change out to even up the difference!!!

Yes it seems strange website is not up to snuff and nothing on Facebook . Wait a minute for the first 35 or so years of Varney existence there was no internet and maybe 40 years without Facebook . How did we do it LOL hardly any politics either . Pits where full . Chubby guys from Orilla could hardly start rumors about this and that . Just saying opening night is May 17th rules are set what else do you need to know ? What the heck is CME I bet there would not be 10 regular Varney fans there .

Your absolutely right excellent promotional tools like websites,Facebook,having your track at car shows like the Canadian Motorsports Expo so you may actually attract non converted Varney fans or drivers is a complete waste of time.If it's not broke don't fix it.........Oh wait a minute, Varney,isn't that the track that says they lost 20 to 30 thousand dollars last year because they had 1/2 empty bleachers,little car count,and no sponsors.I'm sure rather than using great promotional tools just wiping out purse will fix this problem.Good luck
