ADAM RACINE WINS WITH LUCAS OIL CAN-AM MIDGETS

Adam Racine came out the winner Saturday night after a long rain delay at Sauble Speedway. After sweeping the doubleheader with the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets at this same speedway in 2013, his 'Rookie Year', Racine went back to his notes to find his winning set up. Earlier in the season he placed 4th and then 2nd at this same track, leading up to his win. Thanking Rob Neely for all he taught him last season in Neely's car, and all the support from his Dad and family, this was an emotional win for him.
"I have a number of amazing sponsors and friends that allow me to race each weekend. A Big Thanks goes to Brandon Hauck for his 'set up', Bill Pippard for this great motor and all his help, Lucas Oil, Columbia Auto Service, Full Throttle, KW Guardian Pharmacy, T-Weber Oil Spraying and Paving, Dennis Maguire, and of course my Dad", said Racine. "I need to also thank fellow competitors Adrian Stahle and Darren McLennan for all their help while fixing my car after the wreck last weekend at Grand Bend. That's what this Club is all about".

At the drop of the green by starter Kyle McKensie, Ryan Fraser took the lead with Stahle second and Racine third. Starting fourth in the 25 lap feature event, Racine wasted no time getting to the front, taking the point on lap three. Fraser hung strong along with Stahle but Racine started to open up a sizable lead. Tyler Turnbull moved into fourth followed by Lucas Smith. Stahle, in a heavy battle with Fraser took over 2nd place on lap 7. Current point's leader Mack DeMan joined the top five on the same lap. DeMan passed Turnbull and then Fraser to move into third with ten laps in. One lap later DeMan made his move into second with a quick pass on Stahle. Racine's lead over the field continued to grow with DeMan in hot pursuit at the halfway point. Racine began to lap the field in his very fast TQ #37, with DeMan, Stahle, Fraser, and now McLennan joining the top five.

With five laps to go the first caution came out for a spin by Fraser in turn four. Todd Cresswell, running 7th, went into the pits with a loose wheel. McLennan was now in third. At the restart Chris Holman spun in turn 2, again bringing out the caution flag and tightening up the field for the restart. Holman and Smith went into the pits, done for the night. The final caution came out as Josh Shantz and David Balych made contact in turn four. Both cars went to the back of the field for the restart.

The green flag flew for the final time as Racine knew DeMan was behind him, but he was determined to get that checkered flag. When it flew, Racine was under it for his first win of the season. DeMan was second followed by McLennan, Turnbull in his best finish of the year, and Stahle. Heats were won by Racine and DeMan.
