Exciting Night Of Racing Action At Bennett Chevrolet Flamboro Speedway

By Randy Spencer for Flamboro Speedway - Another great night of racing at Bennett Chevrolet Flamboro Speedway Saturday night. Six different divisions were on hand and we had three features from the July 22nd rain out as well.

Racing got underway at 630pm with the first of the three rained out features with the Pro Four Modifieds running the first of their two extra features. Dan Nanticoke lined up beside Linc Erison for the green. Nanticoke picked up where he left off and was unchallenged picking up the checkers in the first fifteen lap feature.

Super Stocks were next with Bobby Mercer and Shawn Arnott on the pole. Mercer had is brand new car out, looks really good. He led lap one. But points leader Nick Troback would lead next time by as he got past Mercer out of two. Troback would lead the rest of the way followed closely by Arnott. Those two waged a fierce battle all night.

Pure Stocks hit the track with Doug Moir and Steve Deleeuw leading the field to green. Moir led lap one and would hold the lead until lap seven when Wayde Thorne would take the lead heading into turn three. Gary Slama would move to second and he would be on Thorne's bumper and challenged him throughout. At the finish it was Thorne by a car length.

Mini Stocks hit the track with Rich Schwartzenberg and Erik Dalla Riva were on the pole and Schwartzenberg led lap one. An early caution as Allie Ditner was around in turn two on lap one. The cars were back to even and Schwartzenberg led once again. Dalla Riva and Schwartzenberg would battle and a caution on lap five as Michael Kenny was around. On the restart, the two front runners had a new threat, points leader Russ Aicken was running close. Aicken would take the lead briefly until a caution heading through three and four as Schwartzenberg got loose and Kyle Istead made contact and Schwartzenberg's bumper came loose and he hit the pits to check it out. On the restart, Aicken would be challenged by Dalla Riva and he would eventually take the lead and hold on for the checkered flag.

The OSCAAR Pro Midgets were on hand Charles Priestley and Jordan Hanna led the field to green. Hanna led lap one and started to build a huge lead and was beginning to lap the field until about half way through he was around out of two heading down the back stretch. He was unable to continue and the second place car of Daniel Hawn was the new leader. He led the rest of the way for the victory. Great to see a nice salute and moment of silence for the Hawn family after the passing of a great racer, their dad Don Hawn passed away Friday. So fitting for Hawn to win it for his dad.

Super Stocks were next for their first regular feature of the night. Chris Howse and Shawn Arnott were out front and Howse led early. Howse would go high into four just about half way and Jaeger McMaster took advantage and got by on the bottom to take the lead. He led the rest of the way and picked up his first SS win.

In the second Pro Four feature from the July 22nd rain out, Mark Lucas and Linc Erison were pole. Lucas shot out to a lead after a false start and a caution soon after as Dan Nanticoke slid through the grass and couldn't stop as he slid back onto the track and collided with the 21 of Larry Westwood sending him into the turn two wall. Gillian Hils and Dan Petit checked up to avoid Nanticoke and came into contact with each other. A red flag as the mess was cleaned up and the race was cut back to ten laps due to just five cars remaining. Lucas would be the leader on the re-start and cruise to the victory.

The Can Am Midgets were next for the first of their two twenty five lap features. They saluted the fans going four abreast down the front stretch. Luc Munsie and Steve Murdock were out front. Murdock led lap one. Adrian Stahle started eighth in the filed and by lap five was to second and he would be the new leader through 1-2. Adam Racine would get past Murdock for second. On lap thirteen, Cory Whittam tagged the wall in turn one and he and Ryan Fraser got mixed up and both would end up on their side and tops bringing the red. On the restart Stahle would resume the lead and hold on the rest of the way for the win.

Intermission was up and it was the final King of the Hill for the year. Not a lot of cars this tie but still as exciting as ever.

Pure Stocks were the first to hit the track after the break. Mark Dennis and John Ditner were pole. Dennis led the first few laps but he 10 of Courtney Scott was the new leader through 3-4 on lap four and started to put some room between herself and the rest of the pack. Scott would come across first for her third career feature win.

The Pro Fours were up for their first regular feature of the night. Linc Erison and Shannon Morris were pole but Mark Lucas who was inside of row two was the leader first time past. Nine cars took green but we were down to six cars a quarter way through. Lucas built a big lead and won handily.

Mini Stocks were up and Kaitlyn Wallace and Mike Hooper led twelve cars to green. Wallace led lap one. Rich Schwartzenberg took the lead down the back stretch on lap six. He would lead until lap 17 when he bobbled out of four allowing Shawn Taylor to get past and pick up the win. Nice to see Taylor back in victory lane and great run on the night by Schwartzenberg.

Super Stocks were next with Nick Troback and Carson Nagy on the pole. Troback led lap one but he was around in two the next time by. Didn't see what happened but Troback was hot after the race. Brandon McFerran was the new leader and he would lead the rest of the way to pick up the win.

The OSCAAR Pro Midgets were up for their second feature. Jordan Hanna who was the class at the start of the last race wasn't able to make the start. Brody Rickwood and Rob Summers were pole and before long race one winner Daniel Hawn was out front and would make a clean sweep on the night. Congratulations to Daniel and and great tribute to dad Don.

Can Am Midgets were next. Dominique Smith and Luc Munsie were on the hot seat. Adam Racine was the leader and Smith and Steve Murdock were battling for second and third. Racine soon had almost a half track lead and the field was back to even as the caution flew on lap fifteen. Racine led on the restart and he and Murdock took off from the rest of the pack and as the checkers flew they finished one/two.

The final race of the night was the fourth and final feature for the Pro Four Modifieds. Linc Erison and Brian Nanticoke were out front but Mark Lucas was the leader first time past. A caution as Dave Hodgkinson was around in four on lap six. The field was back to even but Lucas was still the leader on the restart. He would break away but the Nanticoke brothers weren't too far out of sight. But as the checkers flew, Lucas made it three for four on the night.
