Ontario Pro Challenge Coming on strong
« on: November 18, 2009, 12:10:39 PM »
Look out! They are growing like no other series. Yes in this economy.
Ontario Pro Challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have it on very reliable sources that the series now boasts 24 cars and drivers as of November 17th 2009.
There is still 6 months left before the 2010 season begins.
How many more hopping on board for what is soon to be on of the most thrilling series for a spectator? (Who knows)
If you have seen this series then you can imagine the show you will witness with 24 plus of these screaming roadrunners
all on the track at the same time.
Drivers and cars can be seen at    www.prochallengeracing.com.
We caught on to this series 7 years ago and it's starting to get around that this series is on it's way to being a going concern on the Southern Ontario racing circuit.
Good for OPC but honestly really good for the health of the whole local stock car industry/sport.
As increase in car counts continue I will pass it along here.

saying you have 24 plus drivers is good...now getting them all to showup for every show is another...and hopefully more than the same 4 cars in the top 5 every race would be better too...hope it happens.

OK , lets go back the last 2 racing seasons and I will give you the list of drivers that have won a heat or feature race.
1   Tim Forbes
2   Danielle Wilson
3   Dario Valente
4   Kevin Crowhurst
5   Tim Norris
6   Malcolm McMaster
7   Bob Hopton
8   Scott  Fletcher
9   Ken  Nicholson
10  Josh Nicholson
and Mr Dennis Thomson
Some of the new drivers coming in next year are rookies to Pro Challenge , but have been racing in other divisions. Yes Dennis is the champion again this year but it was also the toughest year on the track and 2010 will be another hard year with all the new drivers. Also 3 drivers are down in Atlanta this weekend for a Pro Challenge race. I beleave  Forbes, McMaster, and Shannan are going.
I think you will see at every race 20 to 24 cars.

2009 results...10 races...average around 14 cars per night...least 9 cars at varney...norris, thomson, nicholson's, forbes pretty well took the top 5 spots every week...not knocking them, just facts...24 or more cars in 2010 will be ahhsum with the economy and with what they cost.

It will certainly not be the same old same old in 2010.
Yah you will see the Nicholsons and Thompson and Norris at times. But that is it.
It will be a thrill for all who attend any event anywhere we run.
And keep an eye on that Girl!!!  :)

Last year Varney was a "non" point race. It was an off weekend for Pro Challenge and they were invited to Varney to see if the cars could or would put on a good show. The racing was great that night and you will see at least one "points" race there, maybe 2
Next years champ, my pick   Josh Nicholson

We have raced the mini trucks at GBS for the last 3 years and are looking for a new challenge for 2011. I will be out to watch the series this year.I checked out the website and didn't see a link to a classified forum. I would be interested in finding out what it would cost to get into a used pro-cup car.

The best thing to do is come out to the O.P.C. races and talk to the drivers. You can go and look for a car your self or the series can help steer you in the right direction on a used car. 8 rookie drivers so far for 2010,car count 25.
Also try www.prochallengeracecars.com   (U.S. web site)

Another nice thing is that you can take your P.C. car down south and race against other Pro Challenge drivers. 3 Ontario driver were in Orlando last weekend racing in the winter speed weeks series.

I am one of the rookies this year, although with my busy calendar, I am currently aiming at five races.  However, this year's travel schedule is surprisingly open during the high summer months and I may have as many as eight open dates.

As a Pro Challenge believer, I'm also using my journalistic skills to develop some spectator awareness of the series with a blog, where I'll be profiling a few of the Ontario Pro Challenge drivers heading into the new season.  You can check out the blog here:

http://prochallengeonline.blogspot.com/

I think we're going to have a lot of fun this year, and I know that the Ontario racing fans are going to be treated to some great racing when the series comes to their local track.  Folks, check out the blog occasionally to bring yourself up to speed on the drivers.  It will make your viewing that much more enjoyable when you know who you're watching!

Check out the shots of the Ontario Pro Challenge cars at Orlando Speedworld last weekend. New sweet looking rides.
