hanges announced in the Driver Bonus Program at Cornwall Motor Speedway

Cornwall, Ont – Wednesday, May 17, 2017 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway is announcing changes to the halfway bonus program part of the Drivers Bonus Program.

After an agreement with VP Fuels, it was decided to change the format of this bonus and to create the VP Small Engine Fuels Halfway Bonus Championship.

Originally, the leader at halfway point was to receive a certificate of a small value against purchasing VP Fuel via Action Race Parts.  The new VP Small Engine Fuels Halfway Bonus Championship will replace the current program.

This new championship will be open to the Modified, Novice Sportsman and Pro-Stock categories as the Sportsman already have a program of their own with Total Race Supply. The top 5 runners  at the halfway point will collect points in the 5,4,3,2,1 format in every feature run in their respective class during the season that will start this coming Sunday, May 21 and will end on Sunday, September 3rd.

The driver in each class that collect the most halfway points will be crowned the champion and will receive a gift certificate in exchange of VP Fuels of a value of $500 for Modified, $250 for Novice Sportsman and $250 for Pro-Stock. The champions will receive their certificates on September 3rd and will be redeemable with Action Race Parts.

For the Modifieds, this will be an added bonus to new halfway bonus structure that was added this year as promoter Raymond Lavergne is giving a nightly bonus to the top 3 while the top 5 are collecting extra points towards the track championship.

This will be another great incentive for drivers that wish to run at Cornwall on a regular basis!
