All Roads Run Through River Glade’s Petty International Raceway Saturday Night

(River Glade, NB - May 30th, 2018) - Petty International Raceway will play host to one of their biggest race events since the 1/4-mile re-opened in the spring of 2011. The facility will welcome the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North on Saturday evening, June 2nd, for the Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150. The event is a “Roads to Oxford and Richmond Qualifier,” meaning the top five finishers in the Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150 will receive a guaranteed starting position at either the 45th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) on August 26th or the inaugural Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway (VA) on October 20th.

The biggest sanctioning body of Super Late Model racing in North America will be joined on the card by the A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman, Westwood Estates Street Stock, Mister Transmission Mini Stock and Leisure Days/CRC RV Bandolero divisions. The jam packed card of racing goes green at 6pm.

All house divisions got their season fired off on the Victoria Day Long Weekend with double point nights over the two day show. The A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman saw Laurie Cormier (Riverview) return to the track and drive to victory lane over another returning driver in Luc Bourgeois (Memramcook). The two have combined for numerous big race wins and championships over their illustrious careers and will look to add a feature win on the Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150 undercard on Saturday.

Reigning champion Kenny MacKenzie Jr (Salisbury) was involved in a crash during the opening race of the year and did not finish the first event of 2018. MacKenzie has a 20 point deficit to make up as the season goes on should he want to defend his championship earned in 2017.

Michael Cormier (Grand Barachois) and Luc McLaughlin (Geary) find themselves tied atop the Westwood Estates Street Stock point standings after one race. McLaughlin has set his sights on big events in 2018, so has Season Opener winner Alex Sheehan (Oyster Bed Bridge, PE), which should shine the Saturday spotlight on the drivers that will run for the championship in the class. Nick Cudmore (Petitcodiac) enters Saturday’s Westwood Estates Street Stock feature two points in the rearview mirror of Cormier for the point lead.

Patricia Taylor’s clean sweep of Opening Day in the Mister Transmission Mini Stock division has the Salisbury driver on top of the point standings. Taylor’s teammate and part-time competitor in 2018 Mike Weagle (Salisbury) sits second in the standings with reigning champion Tim Webster (Beaver Bank, NS) in third. With the highest car count of any house division on Opening Weekend, the cars and stars of the Mini Stock division are sure to thrill fans during the Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150 on Saturday evening.

Reigning Leisure Days/CRC RV Bandolero champion Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS) and Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS) put on an incredible display of racing in their first feature of the season two weeks ago. Rogers made the final pass on Langille coming to two laps to go to seal the deal for his first win of the season and the point lead heading into Saturday’s Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150. Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River, NS) was a stout third place in the Season Opener and sits third in the standings ahead of Danny Chisholm (Canning, NS) and Owen Mahar (Hubley, NS).

A complete preview of the PASS North Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150 can be found by heading to the official website of the PASS, ProAllStarsSeries.com.

The Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150 serves as the second of five Bumper to Bumper Petty $5k Pro Stock Challenge (PPSC) races. House points will be kept over the five Pro Stock/Super Late Model events at Petty International Raceway in 2018 and competitors will be able to count their best four events towards the PPSC championship standings.

Grandstand admission prices for Saturday’s events at Petty International Raceway are $35 for adults and $10 for youth aged eight to 18, while children seven years of age and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $45 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. Pit gates for competitors open at 12:30pm, grandstand gates open for spectators at 4pm with racing getting underway at 6pm. A complete race day format can be found at PettyInternationalRaceway.com.

The next event for Petty International Raceway following the Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre 150 is next weekend with the Canadian National Autism Foundation (CNAF) KidsRace presented by Acura of Moncton. The Westwood Estates Street Stock Triple Crown will take centre stage with a 100-lap feature for Street Stock competitors. The A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman, Mister Transmission Mini Stock, Leisure Days/CRC RV Bandolero and Kings County Performance Beginner Four Cylinder classes will play support on Saturday, June 9th at 6pm.
