Sean Grosman to Chase Super Late Model Championship in 2018

Coming off his most successful season in Super Late Model competition to date, Sean Grosman will be one of the drivers vying for the inaugural Ontario Super Late Models Series Championship.

“I think it’s time to realistically think about a championship,” Grosman said. “We have a third, a second, and multiple wins. Now with this new car, we feel anything that may have been missing is gone, and we need to focus on steady, consistent runs and try to win it.”

The veteran has proven his ability behind the wheel, scoring multiple Limited Late Model feature victories at Sunset Speedway, before moving up to Super Late Model competition. In his rookie campaign on the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Model tour, he placed third in points en route to winning the Rookie of the Year Award. He would then go on to score a runner-up last year in Sunset Speedway’s Fast Eddie Super Late Model Series with a pair of victories. Before that, Grosman scored multiple Limited Late Model feature victories in competition at Sunset.

For Grosman, his success last year was a big boost in confidence, knowing that he could compete with the best of the best. Ultimately, it became the driving force in making sure the right decisions are being made ahead of 2018 to put SMG Motorsports in the best position possible for success.

Grosman will be piloting a brand new Super Late Model, built by Senneker Performance. It will mark the first outlaw out of Senneker in Michigan run on a full-time basis in Ontario.

Terry Senneker’s reputation for success has been made clear over the past several years, dominating outlaw competition across the United States. Last year, Tyler Roahrig piloted one of Senneker’s chassis to a dominating victory at Jukasa Motor Speedway on their opening weekend.

The partnership will see Senneker provide technical support and expertise, working alongside the SMG Motorsports crew, which will include Ryan Kimball, Graham Annis, Graham Flett, Bill Kimball, Nathan Wrightly, and Dale Lyons. The car will be maintained, though, by the SMG Motorsports at Ryan Kimball’s race shop. Graham Annis will be the crew chief this year, with Kimball overlooking the entire operation.

SMG Motorsports is proud to be sponsored by Landing Strip Gentleman’s Club, For Your Eyes Only Gentleman’s Club, Flagship Properties, Rylex Glass and Mirror, AP Racing Engines, Cochrane Automotive, and Senneker Performance.
